  • Collins....

I love his attitude. Anyone who reads the story in the pjstar has to agree. Just shut up and work hard. No complaints about his lack of PT during the seaosn. His fault with the lack of confidence.

Now he's just playing and having fun...making improved decisions...

Collins played very well last night.
I was worried he was going to get tired with how many minutes he was putting up, but he didn't seem to bad.
he also had a clean (at least it was called that way) on Jordan. Which is impressive, and his confidence i think hinged off of that.

great game DC, hope to see it next year too
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

He continues to get better. I understood why he was losing time during the year, but the way he's playing now I just can't understand how we couldn't work him in for 5-10 minutes a game. Oh well. Better late than never I guess.

First of all, sorry Dave Reynolds. I don't read the paper anymore and I won't go to the paper's website - Dave, you know me and my email so please send me your articles directly, I would greatly appreciate it as I miss reading your stuff since I have put the ban on the newspaper.

But more importantly... DC - holy cow, gosh darn... it has been so much fun watching him progress in the last month! Sat next to a guy last night that had missed the last month of games and he just couldn't believe his eyes!

Keep up the hard work DC!!!

When you are up - yes, we love ya with plenty of red kool-aide, but when you are down.... the red kool-aide drinkers are the one's there supporting you no matter what.

          Once a Brave - Always a Brave.

I think the CBI helped the coaching staff out more than it did DC. IMO, DC would have made positive contributions during the conference season. The good news is that there is a lot of positive momentum regarding DC's role on next year's team ... something that would not have been present in this off-season if the CBI hadn't been available. That's not a swipe on the coaching staff ... sometimes things don't fall into place with a player. After all, Larry Bird picked up and left IU because he didn't like Bobby Knight's approach to coaching ... and I still think Knight was a great coach. (and no, I'm not equating DC's talent to Bird's)

That said, DC still has a lot to work on in the off-season ... finishing stronger to the rim, less happy feet when playing D and just holding his ground, and, most of all in my opinion, anticipating rebounds and jumping earlier ... he still seems to be flat-footed a lot when the shot caroms off the glass.

I'm hoping DC's disappearance was more part of a destroying a shaky foundational skillset, and proper rebuilding (like footwork that AT had to work on) than some coaching ignorance.

Plus, I thought Larry left because RMK would publically ignore all freshmen, including one fateful night when Larry was on a date and wanted to introduce his GF to RMK who happened to be at the same restaurant., not an on-the court coaching philosophy issue?..

According to Bird, quoted by ESPN:

"People naturally think it was trouble between (Bobby) Knight and me, but it wasn't," Bird said. "The school was just too big. I was a homesick kid who was lost and broke."

I can be bought, too easily otherwise I'd consider.
