  • Off Topic-- Thunder Over Louisville

I know this is a little off topic, admins you can delete if you feel so. Anyways, I was just curious if any BU fans were going to Thunder Over Louisville next weekend the 11th? If your not familiar with it....It's the start of the 2 week celebration to the Kentucky Derby. On Saturday the 12th at 3pm-9pm is the worlds 3rd best air show and best military air show. Then from 9 to 9:30pm is the Bill Leff airplane fireworks show and from 9:30-10pm is the worlds best fireworks show. Roughly 900,000 attend, most on the downtown Louisville side and the rest on the Indiana side of the OH River. It's truly an amazing day but the traffic is a nightmare afterwards.

Ohh how I have missed the Derby since going to college. I will be heading down that way to spend some time with the family/friends, catch thunder, and Will be staying right on through till the derby. Always an incredible time, not to mention the work they have done on Louisville over the past decade has been very successful, the downtown area is much more enjoyable.

Best place to be in end of April/early May if you ask me. Plenty to drink, plenty of racing, and plenty of women.

edit** spelling in the morning is almost as difficult as late at night

This is actually the first year in a long time that I'm NOT going -- stupid work.

It really is a great time, especially if you know someone who lives on the river and has a big house party.

I live down there and love the Derby festival. Sadly, I don't think I've been to Thunder for about 10 years dues to travel and school. Can't wait to get back next year. It's a great time of year to live in Kentuckiana!
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...
