Maybe the door for Illinois State to steal Stefhon Hannah is still open.
As it turns out, after declaring he will sign with Bob Huggins at K-State, apparently Stefhon Hannah (and his mom) have had a change of heart.
Hannah HAS NOT signed yet, and apparently K-State has received nothing official.
Now there is a report that Hannah might have signed a LOI to Mizzou, but it also might have come after the legal period to sign such a LOI had passed.
"Hannah visited Kansas State last weekend and made a verbal commitment to the Cats, according to his Heair. However, Wednesday came and went without Hannah signing a letter of intent with KSU. The reports were that Hannah signed the letter, but his mother refused.
Rumors began to circulate on Friday morning that Hannah had signed a second letter of intent, this one with the Tigers.
"Greg Heiar (Hannah's coach at Chipola)said he had spoken with Missouri coaches, who said they had received a signed letter of intent from Hannah around 7 p.m. on Thursday night. That was the day after the end of the signing period. However, the key is not when the letter was received, but when it was signed. If the letter is signed prior to the end of the signing period (midnight on Wednesday, May 17th), a school has three weeks to validate that letter, regardless of when it is officially received from the prospect."
" talked to Missouri and they said he had faxed them a letter of intent," Heiar said. "I have not talked to Stef this morning. I'm not real happy right now with the whole situation, the lack of communication."
Heiar said his issue was not with the coaching staffs at Missouri or Kansas State.
"If he wants to sign with Missouri, he can say, 'Hey, coach, I'm going to sign with Missouri.' But instead to send it yourself without talking to me???‚¬?¦" Heiar said. "He's got three great schools and it didn't have to be like this. If that's where you want to go to school, that's fine, but this has become a game. You don't do that to people."
