AV23 - you want JLes to rush out and sign a player this late in the year for 2 years, or should Les 'save' the scholarship for next year's class on a possible better player?

If Les can get a good big man this late than I say go for it. If not then he should save the scholarship.

Jim has one scholarship for 2007 committed (Maniscalco)
But should have three more plus the one from POB, making four to give out now.
        (POB's, DA's, Will F's, Zach A's, JJ's)
I say if there is a player right now that can help for 06-07, use it pronto. Even if it a player who sits out 06-07 from transferring, grab now if he's a stud.

I trust the staff's ability to decide whether a not a kid is worth signing this late in the game. If not, we've got one more bullet to add to the most important class in the last 20 years of Bradley Basketball.

                  ESPN:

Agent Andy Miller told ESPN.com Friday afternoon that he signed Patrick O'Bryant and turned in the papers to the NBA.

Of course hiring an agent means that the "agent" can actually give the "client" an "advance" of what Patrick might earn in the NBA in exchange for the exclusive rights to represent Patrick when contract negotiations begin, and of course the agent can receive the usual "commission".

So, I suspect we can also congratulate Patrick on successfully accomplishing this.

I think it happens in any profession. When someone becomes successful and rich, they sometimes can forget about the common people who helped them get where they are.

"mastermind" as you sarcastically call him did pretty well with this scholarship. Fears is an absolute steal for BU, and a player who was being pursued by BCS-type schools, and as highly rated as any other MVC recruit.

Do you still think he should have "saved" the scholarship?
