That closes the book on POB's college career, for the few people who held out hope that he might return.
Though POB and his family had already decided they would stay in the draft and he has told people at Bradley he wasn't returning.

Good luck Patrick. I hope a lot of young men see this and realize they don't have to go to a Big Ten or ACC school to get noticed. POB was a lightly recruited high schooler that the majors either didn't bother with or recruited as a "project". By coming to Bradley where he could play immediately as a freshman he has developed into a top 10 NBA recruit after just 2 years.
Watch for his stock to keep rising. As he gets seen by more NBA people, I believe he could rise to the top 5.

Patrick's agent obviously has ties to the media moguls, and knows how to get on the front page.
The midwest media will catch on in a couple days.
One good thing for BU, is an extra scholarship to go after a couple of those available big men.

Every agent has ties to the media moguls (as you put it tornado). I really hope BU can land one of the available big men still out there

Here is the only other site that mentions this news, so far. From Chicago Hoops (scroll down to the second from last paragraph)

But it looks like it was just added in a hurry this morning. In the original article (it may be corrected soon) the writer refers to Patrick O'Bryant by the wrong name--
"7-0 Bradley University center Patrick O'Bryan has now signed with an agent, and will be staying in the NBA draft. Bradley is expected to be a 1st round selection."

Yes, this is definitely a good development for Bradley. POB was not coming back, but he could have waited until June 18 to make it official. By signing it frees up the scholarship now, instead of 1 month from now. There are a bunch of big men transfers available who could be lured to Bradley with the open scholarship and the prospect of a lot of playing time.

I guess we will have to see what master mind Coach Les does with that one open scholarship. I hope he can lure a big man into coming to BU

Congrats to O'Bryant. A good prospect who has a chance to be a great NBA center in 3-4 years. Also he brings good pub to the Valley and more importantly to BU.

Crawford would have really benefitted from playng behind him for a year and going against him in practice daily.

O'Bryant may end up in the Lottery so he certainly made the right call.

How do you guys see your team next year having lost POB, Sommerville, Heemskerk, Bennett, and Wright???
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

While I think his offensive skills still need further development, IMHO he is going to surprise in the NBA with his defense. His blocks keep the ball in play for his team rather than the "spectacular" swat that returns the ball to the other team. Then, too, he alters sooo many shots, a stat that cannot be measured. Good luck to you, Patrick.

With how things have developed I think POB made the right decision. I hope it somehow falls that he's a Chicago Bull.
Either way, he's been great for this program, and I hate to see him go... but it was time for him to go.
