he says he will finish this year, then step down.

Oklahoma State called a press conference for 9:30 tonight (it has already happened). Eddie Sutton will retire, and not return as head coach. He will enter a treatment program.

Oklahoma State basketball coach Eddie Sutton acknowledged Wednesday that he drank alcohol before an automobile accident that put him in the hospital and cast doubt about his coaching future.

The expected rumors are in full force--
Alford to resign at Iowa and take the Indiana job.
McDermott to be wooed to Iowa.
      Altman to Iowa?
Some people in Indiana even want to throw a ton of money at Thad Matta to get him, and maybe Greg Oden will follow.

This will be fun to watch.

          Yes it will!

And T Smith is thinking of bailing out of UK.

I will believe it when I see it.
Tubby's overall package is said to be worth over $2 mil per year, and has
an 8 year contract with an additional $4 mil if he stays through the end of the term.
There is no way I can see him leaving unless he's bought out and that would cost UK dearly, plus Tubby is
a good coach who is just having a down year.

Watch for Mark Few, Tom Crean, and several MVC coach's names to be prominently discussed in the next few weeks.

The Kentucky fans don't tolerate "a down year". They've lost twice to Vanderbilt and once to Tennessee. Kentucky fans can't accept that.

Must be nice to not accept losing.

You guys think Alford will leave Iowa if they win the Big 10?

Among the names of people who are being suggested for the open jobs at Missouri & Indiana, has anyone mentioned Wayne McClain? How about Bruce Pearl to Iowa if Alford goes to Indiana?
                        Longshots maybe?

Why not pull Dr. Tom back from Drake? That is a total longshot, but would that be crazy or what?

There is no way Dr. Tom would want to go back to that. He is planning on retiring soon. Besides, there is also no way Iowa would consider a coach with a 37-47 record.

Sources put Steve Alford at the top of the list for a successor at Indiana, with Tom Crean and Thad Matta mentioned also.

If Alford leaves Iowa, Sports Illustrated says UNI's Greg McDermott is the likeliest to replace him at Iowa.

This link also says that Dana Altman is at the top of the list for successors at Missouri.
