  • Mac Koshwal

A new Rivals article says this about Boys to Men forward Nayal Mac Koshwal, Thijin Moses' friend and teammate...

"Nayal Koshwal has a number of schools seeking his services.
According to Koshwal's coach Loren Jackson of Boys to Men High School in Chicago, Ill., Koshwal has offers from DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Wisconsin and Miami.

Koshwal is also receiving interest from Kentucky, Connecticut, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana and West Virginia......

The 6-foot-9, 235-pound power forward averaged 18 points and 15 rebounds per game for Boys to Men last season."

Both Bruce Weber from Illinois and Tubby Smith from Kentucky were following and recruiting Koshwal this week at the Reebok AAU tourney in Las Vegas. DePaul had a couple assistants there too.

The real question is...how much will it take to get Loren Jackson to deliver Mac Koshwal?

There are some rumors from the AAU games that Mac Koshwal will accept a scholarship offer soon from DePaul.
Not surprising, but he hasn't gotten a qualifying test score yet.

Here is a quote from coverage by scout.com

"Mac Koshwal (2007) ???‚¬??? Chicago Jaguars

From the opening tip to the final buzzer Koshwal was so impressive. He???‚¬?„?s 6-8 and built like a man. On his first shot of the game he made a jab step and then hit a fadeaway jumper on the wing that raised plenty of eyebrows in the crowd. The rumors around Koshwal say he???‚¬?„?ll likely choose DePaul. As if it???‚¬?„?s not enough to be 6-8 with range that extends beyond the three-point line, Koshwal also has a handle. Twice he ripped down rebounds and led the break. On one particular play he went behind his back in traffic and fired a no-look pass to his teammate for a dunk. That wasn???‚¬?„?t a behind the back dribble for show ???‚¬??? it was the right play at the right time.

On the defensive end he???‚¬?„?s a real presence. I had him for five blocks in this one. This kid is an absolute stud - you name it, he does it."

In a new interview, Mac Koshwal states he has dropped Illinois from his list, and that DePaul is the favorite.
Here are the schools he is still considering.
DePaul, Louisville, LSU, Tennessee and USC.

He states he dropped Illinois because Derrick Rose dropped Illinois.

There were reports that Mac Koshwal would take a visit to USC or to Tennessee this past weekend, but he cancelled all plans.
He had previously cancelled a visit to Illinois then dropped Illinois from his list saying it was because Derrick Rose had also dropped Illiniois.
The guy is going to have gray hair by the time he actually decides.
Remember, this is a guy who first enrolled in high school in Canada in 2000, then lied about his past academics and his age in order to dominate high school ball in the Chicago Public League.

Here is an article showing the Chicago Public League discovered fradulent info on his school application as well as a fraudulent birth certificate. The kid's high school coach, Loren Jackson (the present coach at Boys to Men) was not only the kid's legal guardian with whim Koshwal lived, but also was the one who submitted the fraudulent documents on Koshwal's behalf, causing Jackson to be fired by Chicago Julian High School.
