Yeah, rebounding is as much about positioning and especially desire as it is about size or even leaping ability.

I don't think the zone helped either.

Just to add my two cents, Tulsa played great defense and that threw us out of sink. Also, we could not make 3's and FT's to save our life, and we couldn't rebound either. It was just one of those nights. We have played well on the road as of late, but Tulsa is probably a better team (at least at their place) than Virginia was. It's a matter of who wants it more, and Tulsa wanted it more.

That said, we have had a day to correct our mistakes, and we should get this game tonight at home, and hopefully we will play the way we did at Virginia on Friday night. The only regret is that we will not be able to clinch a title at home, but we have to take things a game at a time. Tulsa is not a bad team, and will be a force to be reckoned with in C-USA for years to come.

I agree with most of what you said. It was pretty bad watching SS and DC try to set a screen in the same spot at the same time. But give them credit for trying. I think JL got to the same point as most of us, in watching them getting 2,3, and up to 4 off. rebounds a trip. God I know I am. As for rebounding its all about desire and pushing your man out of position.

On defence, in the low post positions, its about putting a body on your man and trying to keep your man as far away from the hoop (out of the paint). I thought the other night SS did a good job of pushing out who ever his man was. I don't think Jordon made a point when SS was guarding him. He took 2 shots, missed both, when he had him and I believe Sam had him pushed outside the paint on both.
Tonite we can't allow 2,3, and 4 off. rebounds adding up to 16 points like game 1 or there won't be a Friday Night.
PLAY WITH DESIRE,PUSH AND PUT HARD BODYS ON THEM. (SEE DENNIS RODMAN 101).

The Tulsa big men got away with a lot of pushing and reaching over the back. There were also a number of elbow hooks that weren't called. I predict they will not get that advantage tonight and it could frustrate their guys. From what I saw, Bradley's defense was good Monday.
Tulsa has only lost 2 times at home all year, once to Memphis, and once to Tulane in overtime. So they are pretty hard to beat on their home floor.
I expect with some adjustments Bradley will neutralize Jordan tonight, and win the game.

I just hope we press them on D from basket to basket and try to run a bit more. If you guys have watched UNC or UCLA after a team has scored on them check out how fast they get the ball in bounds and up the court. They really make the other team get back and exert a lot of energy.

I'd like to see a little more of the press, too. But you can bet your sweet hoo-hah that Tulsa probably made a big deal out of handling that in their practices and meetings.

Haha, yeah. And Tulsa must have some really good walk-ons too.
