  • Another interesting CBI article

This guy thinks that there will be several CBI "clones" popping up within the next few years. I don't agree with him about the 128 team NCAA Tournament though. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Just wanted to bump this up because I think this is an interesting topic. I'd be interested to see how many more tournaments people would support based on this year's CBI success.

I think if we see this tournament or similar ones next year, they might try to include more midmajor schools, and not so many also rans from the BCS conferences.
It seems the schools like Virginia, didn't draw well, and their fans didn't like these tournaments, and they didn't like to pay the fees.
Schools like Tulsa and Bradley that drew better, and see other benefits like raising the visibility of the school, may be more willing to participate and host games.

The unknown factor could be whether the NCAA tries to change rules to prevent such non-NCAA postseason tournaments, for fear they will distract from their own NCAA and NIT.

What would keep tournies from including teams that have lost and drop out of the NCAA, such as the higher ranked 1st and 2nd round eliminated teams?
That could be a decent tourney....IU would have been in this year...
