Do you all see the relief on Bill Self's face (and his body language) when Davidson missed that final shot? Priceless!!

Would have been more priceless if Davidson had won.

I'll never feel good about Kansas winning even if JL was coaching them. I wish Davidson would have hit that last shot! I thought the reffing favored KU!

I don't know..it seem like Davidson got away with some pushes too.
It also seemed like KU could have been called for some fouls on a couple of shots down the stretch...I thought they might get the Barr kid for a three at the end.

Yeah...BOTH teams got some breaks. Either way good game.

bad coaching call at the end for Davidson

Curry took too long to get up the court
He looked off alot of good passes and gave a desperation shot that didn't allow him to set his feet.

my guess is Davidson's coach (whatever his name is) put the ball in curry's hands and hoped for a miracle

oh well, it was a great run, and Curry got himself a draft pick for the Pro's if he enters this year
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

I wonder if he will go pro, I think his stock is sky high right now and it's probably a good idea.

Sorry BUconnorD, but I've got to disagree. IMO Kansas just did a great defensive job on Curry at the end by forcing him to have to give up the ball. As it was, Richards (Davidson's second best player got a good and open look at a three that would have won the game. Unfortunately, he was slightly out of his range.

Davidson's coach (McKillop) is an outstanding coach (of the caliber of CU's Altman) who's been winning big at Davidson for a long time. He had an excellent game plan for KU, but Self and KU did exactly what they needed to do -- Box and one on Curry. Really, did you see Davidson's games? Curry had a VERY weak supporting cast; they just played at 125% of their ability. This team was nowhere near as talented as BU's Sweet 16 team, yet managed to hang with everyone they played.

I don't know if Curry will go pro or not; it's not like his family needs the money and, with his old man's connections he'll probably get a good look whenever he does come out. My hunch is that he stays at Davidson at least another year. He and his family, I think, really feel a loyalty to DU and Coach McKillop for giving him a chance to play major college ball when all the big boys (read: ACC schools) never gave him a chance. The family is really treated like royalty by the small "bedroom" community of Davidson and The University. Plus, I think he is still too small and frail to play in the NBA right now. Another year or two can only help him long term.

                    That is impossible.

They played at 100% of their ability.

                    Just messin with ya B4L.

I agree with your breakdown of the game, gameplan, final possession, future of Curry in your post 125%.

                    LOL!

                      That's a really good point.

                        Pro is a BAD idea

I don't know how to say this without sounding too negative. I loved watching Curry in the NCAA's he was great, it was one of the best performances in memory. I think he's a great college player.

However, he has a lot to work on for the pro's. He needs to get much stronger, play more point
guard, work on dribbling and passing (He's not bad) I think he will play in the pro's but unless he progresses a bunch I think he will be a borderline player (Not even as good as Adam Morrison). He can mature, but he better stay all four years and enjoy college.

Again I am saying nothing negative about him as a college player, just how it translates to the pro's.

P.S. I used to be a big fan of his dad when he was in college. Maybe I'm just mad because he makes me feel so old.

I agree with some of what you say. And, with their point guard Richards graduating he may well get the chance to play point. Davidson has a good cast returning next year but no point guard with experience. Their best chance of winning may well be by playing Curry at the point.

I thought that the red jerseys would come back to haunt Kansas once again.... but not this time

I don't think the last play was a bad coaching call, it just became a busted play once they doubled up on Curry and he panicked. As crazy as this might sound, it might've been better to use Curry as a decoy and let the fella Dunn, Dell, something like that (the sophomore who was heated up pretty good), set the screen at the top and then pop for the look if Kansas doubled up on Curry (like they did).
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

I believe that Curry stated himself that he was going to stay because he would be able to play point guard next year after Richards graduates, mainly because he wants to play point guard in the NBA. I think he will stay all 4 years, even if he is a monster next year.
