If you do one basketball skill particularly well, you'll get a shot on an NBA roster. Obviously, Curry will get that chance, whether it's this year, next year or two years from now. I think he needs at least another year to bulk up more. If he didn't have his pedigree, then I'd say he'd be more likely to go the POB route in leaving even though he probably isn't ready physically.
His body type, shot and knack for the big stage reminds me of Reggie Miller. Just comparing the two in that sense, not in predicting how his NBA career will go.

Not a bad comparison, but unless Curry hits a growth spurt, I think he'll struggle to get his shot off in the NBA. Just look what happened at the end of yesterday's game. Miller has 4" on Curry, he's 6'7", while Curry comes in at 6'3", I agree that if he's going to make it, it'll be as a point guard, not a shooting guard.
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.
I think that at 6'3 he'll have trouble shooting in the NBA-- then again, his release is just stupid quick, so he might be alright. If he really does intend to stay at Davidson to work on PG skills, I think that'd give him the best shot in the NBA.
I actually think the last possesion run by McKillip was very poor. Everyone in the country knew who was getting the ball...surprisingly even Bill Self! He just ran four guys on the baseline and had Richards come up and set a ball screen for Curry. I don't mind going for the win I think that was a good call, but I think Barr should have been the one to set the screen and then pop for a three. As for Curry, he didn't want to give it up. He had Richards wide open after the defender fell down for a three at the top of the key but held the ball until the last possible second and they had to settle for a 25-footer.
As for Curry going to the league...Jay Bilas reported this morning on Mike and Mike that he will definitely be back for his Junior season. I actually think he will have a great NBA career though, judging by how well he moves without the ball and understands the game. He also has a very quick release with offsets his 6'3" frame. Everyone said Tayshawn Prince and Kevin Durant were two skinny, too.
I don't smoke weed...I smoke dudes like you on the bball court
Sorry BUconnorD, but I've got to disagree. IMO Kansas just did a great defensive job on Curry at the end by forcing him to have to give up the ball. As it was, Richards (Davidson's second best player got a good and open look at a three that would have won the game. Unfortunately, he was slightly out of his range.
Davidson's coach (McKillop) is an outstanding coach (of the caliber of CU's Altman) who's been winning big at Davidson for a long time. He had an excellent game plan for KU, but Self and KU did exactly what they needed to do -- Box and one on Curry. Really, did you see Davidson's games? Curry had a VERY weak supporting cast; they just played at 125% of their ability. This team was nowhere near as talented as BU's Sweet 16 team, yet managed to hang with everyone they played.
I don't know if Curry will go pro or not; it's not like his family needs the money and, with his old man's connections he'll probably get a good look whenever he does come out. My hunch is that he stays at Davidson at least another year. He and his family, I think, really feel a loyalty to DU and Coach McKillop for giving him a chance to play major college ball when all the big boys (read: ACC schools) never gave him a chance. The family is really treated like royalty by the small "bedroom" community of Davidson and The University. Plus, I think he is still too small and frail to play in the NBA right now. Another year or two can only help him long term.
i agree KU did a great defensive job on Curry at the end, but he should have passed muuuuch earlier.
McKillop (thanks...didn't know name) had to have known they were going to double team him. you gotta look for the open man especially in a clutch situation like that.
but hey...its all been done...not to mention he just announced he's stayin another year. and I didn't even think about his connection...
this will be great for Davidson's recruiting too
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today
