  • NCAA games 3/27 - 3/28

10-seed Davidson clobbered 3-seed Wisconsin 73-56. Stephan Curry with 33 points.

2-seed Texas easily handled 3-seed Stanford, 82-62. Was Stanford seeded maybe a little too high?

    12-seed plays 1-seed Kansas--

The only remaining Big Ten school, 5-seed Michigan State plays 1-seed Memphis--

I hope Michigan St. beats Memphis. Packer pretty much just declared the game over with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Incidentally, I just discovered that Packer is even scarier looking in high-def.

Well, I guess Billy was right.

Not really turning out to be a slate of captivating games tonight.

I am belly-laughing HARD at the B10 right now.

And I don't give a rat's snot if anyone wants to say "oh yeah - oh yeah.... well, Mich St beat Bradley".

Any arrogance B10 fans have right now are absolutely laughable.

Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

What do you guys think of the games tonight that were played in football stadiums? Was it just Ford Field or was there another? I don't think I would like it at all, it looked like alot of fans were very far from the court, and the atmosphere just didn't seem to be there that is usually in most basketball arenas.

Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.

I saw Mich St/Ky in 98 (I think it was) in St Louis at the TWA Dome. The crowd marked the largest crowd in the state of Missouri to see a college mens hoops game at the time. I was so far away it wasn't even funny.

Somehow in society we have lost the product for cunsumers. It is all about the marketing.

I saw the final four in the RCA dome and it blew, the field was truncated so the endzone seats were center court and the added a riser of bleachers where the 50 yard line was. I loved being at the final four and had a great time, but the dome was a terrible setup.

Yeah, the basketball games in a football stadium don't look very attractive and the atmosphere is terrible. Why can't they host these games in normal basketball arenas?

God those last two games were terrible. I was falling asleep! I thought Mich. State would have given Memphis a better game. Looks like the last game woke the Tiger. Memphis looked monstrous and tough to beat.

I had Texas beating Mich. State/Memphis. But we'll see. Hopefully it'll be a better game than the Spartans did at least.

Here was Wisconsin Coach Bo Ryan's explanation for the but kicking his team got...
"While UW coach Bo Ryan said he felt the Badgers would have played a better game if Hughes had been healthy"

                    Hmmm.....

Yeah, right Bo! Maybe if UW would have used their HUUUUGE size advantage and taken the ball inside all game they would have done better. Those guys dwarfed tiny Davidson

Even though Memphis plays in C-USA, I don't really think you can count them as a mid major.

They are a mid-major that has "ascended" to BCS level without being BCS. I say they count.

I would say Memphis is a mid major with emphasis on Mens basketball as a sport. Memphis has about the same enrollment as Illinois State and doesn't play in a particularly strong conference. I think of Memphis like a Houston. Univ of Houston has 35,000 students but doesn't get huge recognition for mens basketball despite a good record this season. Just matters on how much effort you put into recruiting and what your campus & city has to offer.
