  • 3 Years in a row????

    Go to:

RealTimeRPI.com: RPI, RPI Rankings, college basketball rpi, Real Time NCAA College Basketball and Sports Ratings - the most accurate independent analysis of the NCAA college basketball Rating Percentage Index (RPI)

Start at the top and the NCAA teams are in italics and bold, and the first team not in italics and bold "left out" was ISU. If I remember right, this is the third year in a row that the first team left out as you go down the list from #1 has been an MVC team. I know it has been at least 2 of the last 3 years (Missouri State), but I think it is 3 in a row. I could not find last year's information. Maybe I am the only one who just finds this interesting...

Here is last year's. It looks like Air Force had a slightly lower RPI and didn't make the NCAA, just ahead of Missouri State and Bradley.

Thanks for straightening me out on that. There are an aweful lot of MVC teams on those lists, however.

I think there's two different ways you can look at it, and really both can be right. The first way is that the Valley is getting robbed of bids it deserves. The second is that the Valley is greatly improving as a conference, getting more and more recognition and getting many teams with high RPI's. I really like the league's future though, with players like AW, Stinnett, Josh Young, and Eldridge all either sophomores or freshman. And there's no reason to think that teams won't continue to recruit players of their caliber.

How bout a list of the BCS schools with RPI's lower than that and still made the Tourney.
