Davidson's students go to game for FREE

That's not what was said. Packer and Nantz were talking about how great it was for Davidson to get students to the game for free, and they said that it might be a cool idea to other schools to reward good students (over 3.2 GPA) with a free trip to follow their school's team to the NCAA's.

OK, that would be a great idea.

As great as the band is (and they cheer more than most), I do keep wondering if 5 rows of standing, jumping students (hard to jump with an instrument) in front of the band would be a better, high-energy atmosphere...

I think the band does a pretty good job of cheering... I say this partially because it'd be impossible to get kids between the director and his musicians... No director on earth would go for it, and I know for a fact that Dr. Vroman wouldn't allow it.

To reply to the Tulsa fan's question, Bradley does a pretty good job of taking care of its students. Admission to all non revenue sports is free and tickets to basketball games are $1 (or seasons tickets are $20 and it comes with a tshirt). We have a progressive rewards system for repeat attendance, conference tournament tickets are free, and there are a number of cheap bus trips for away contests.. Oh and there is free transportation to our arena (five minutes or less from campus) where cold beer is available..
