  • Teams You'd Love to See Bradley Play in the Near Future

While watching the game last night between Louisville and Tennessee, I thought that I would love to see Bradley play Tennessee.
Louisville looked to completely fluster Tennessee's high powered offense, as if they studied game tapes and figured it out.

Personally I think BU and Jim Les & staff are good at that also.
Whenever we've played an unfamiliar opponent, someone who doesn't know us very well either, Bradley seems to be pretty well prepared more often than not.
The fact that Bradley did a few things against Virginia that we don't normally do such as dribble drive frequently to the hoop, and blow right by them, and we were quite successful vs Virginia, makes me think JL is pretty good at finding the opponents' weaknesses moreso than unfamiliar opponents (like Virginia, Kansas, Pitt, Iowa, Iowa State, etc...) are able to find and figure out ours.

I think BU could have done what Louisville did and beaten Tennessee, just my opinion........

But here are the teams I'd love to see BU get as an opponent in some future tournament....
although I concede none of these guys are likely to want to actually schedule us.

--Tennessee, because I think we can expose their weaknesses
--Kansas, I'd love to prove 2006 was no fluke
--Indiana, let them know they missed out on Andrew Warren
--Wisconsin, so we can get a boost recruiting in Milwaukee
--Duke, well, just because want to see Mike Krzyzewski pout and whine, and help put an end to Illinois kids wanting to play there.
--and finally, Maryland....well just because I want to whup Gary Williams!!

I have thought all year that our team is well prepared to play against our opponents as far as scouting reports on what to do both offensively and defensively, we always seem to get good shots , it is more about making the shots and when we seem to want to play defense and rebound we normally do a good job, this season has been more about injuries and other distractions; we beat Creighton easily at home in what I thought was going to be the turning point of the season but A.Warren gets hurt and we are once again without another starter until the cbi tour., we also beat Drake on the road and have won 6 games on the road so I think our coaching staff has done a good job, the only thing I would change is that we would play more zone defense.

Doesn't Wisconsin (along with Iowa) have the policy they won't schedule games against schools with "hostile" nicknames? The only reason we played Iowa last year was because we were in a tournament. Unless we're the Bradley Squirrels or Bradley River Carp, I can't forsee us EVER playing Wisconsin (unfortunately).
        Go Braves!

those claims of a policy against such schools is all fluff...they say it to appease the green people, but when necessary, they play who they want to.

But even the Hawkeyes have a nickname that is of Indian origin...
and Wisconsin scheduled and PLAYED Valparaiso this season,
and Valpo's nickname "Crusaders" is one of the MOST politically incorrect names in the business!!

Even Wheaton College which notes itself as a "Christian" college has changed their name from "Crusdaders" to the "Thunder."

I'd love to see us play a team out here in the Bay area so I could go!

UC, Stanford, St. Mary's, Santa Clara even USF (very small arena great place to watch a game).

The real, dark/middle age crusaders (that the church, unfortunately, sponsored) did not exemplify true Christian values.
A lot of what the real crusaders did offends current Christians, as well as the peoples they abused. I'm not sure who is not offended by some of their actions.

                  Yes,But.......

I like your list but I have another thought of teams I would like to schedule in addition. Teams of similar program size, or teams that would be Valley level of play. A-10 teams, Butler, Depaul,Cincinnati,Marquette,St. Louis,Valparaiso,Louisville,Notre Dame,Western Kentucky,Iowa State,Tulsa,Gonzaga,San Diego,St.Mary's(Ca.),UAB,Murray State,Austin Peay, any Midwest teams that are slightly better or worse than us. In addition I remember when Versace was here we made a couple trips to Philly for Villanova,St.Joseph's(PA),I believe that there a a bunch of teams in the same area and that was an interesting trip that got us some East Coast press.

Bradley would, in fact, match up very well against many "top" schools.

                    But, since we're dreaming:
I'd love to see (travel and physically see) Bradley play at:
                    Pepperdine (Mailbu)
                    Hawaii
Air Force Academy (Although ther's probably a better school in the Rockies)
a summer game in Alaska (which I know is impossible)
                    UNCa (Asheville, NC)
Since the season is in the winter, I got to throw in some Texas / Arizona schools, and I'm currently drawing a blank for a D1 school in/near Tampa..

Nevada, so I could combine a road trip with Lake Tahoe.

I would really like to see BU get back into a series with SLU.

I wouldnt also mind seeing us get away from Loyola/UIC and try and get something with Northwestern.

I like the Butler series and have no problem with maybe another Horizon league team but no more of the 4 games versus one conference.

I would really like also to see us schedule games with other A10 schools maybe UMass, someone on the east coast and get into a series with Tulsa, Houston, UAB or UTEP.

Since we are dreaming out loud, here is my short list. --in no particular order.
                              Duke
                              Xavier
                              Cincinnati
A continuing series with a Big 10 school.
                              Iowa State
                              Vanderbilt
                              Depaul
                              Butler
                              Notre Dame
                              Gonzaga
                              Louisville
                              Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
