A couple of the games were a bit surprising to me......
First...
I was astounded how easily Louisville thumped Tennessee, although I am not sorry to see Bruce Pearl depart. I think they were overrated and relied on excellent offense while playing little or no defense.
BUT-- as soon as their offense failed, then they looked like a team that wouldn't finish in the middle of the pack in the MAC.
Tennessee shot just 5-20 from 3-pt (Lofton was 2-11), and only 33% overall, and lo and behold, Josh Tabb even got a slim couple of minutes of garbage time along with Bruce Pearl's son Steven.
Remember......this is the same Louisville that LOST at home to Cincinnati and Dayton!!! And they only beat Miami (OH) by 3 on their home court.
Louisville is playing well right now, but for Tennessee to lose by 19 and score only 60 points, is surprising as Louisville hasn't beaten many teams other than Morehead State that badly!!!
UNC looks like the team to beat.
Xavier is keeping the mid-major hopes alive.
Western Kentucky made a nice comeback and scored 58 points in the 2nd half, cutting the gap to just 4 points late in the game, but fell short against UCLA.
I think UNC and UCLA are two of the Final Four teams but UNC will make the final game while UCLA might just struggle with Memphis.
