  • Last Night's NCAA Games

A couple of the games were a bit surprising to me......

    First...
I was astounded how easily Louisville thumped Tennessee, although I am not sorry to see Bruce Pearl depart. I think they were overrated and relied on excellent offense while playing little or no defense.
BUT-- as soon as their offense failed, then they looked like a team that wouldn't finish in the middle of the pack in the MAC.
Tennessee shot just 5-20 from 3-pt (Lofton was 2-11), and only 33% overall, and lo and behold, Josh Tabb even got a slim couple of minutes of garbage time along with Bruce Pearl's son Steven.

Remember......this is the same Louisville that LOST at home to Cincinnati and Dayton!!! And they only beat Miami (OH) by 3 on their home court.
Louisville is playing well right now, but for Tennessee to lose by 19 and score only 60 points, is surprising as Louisville hasn't beaten many teams other than Morehead State that badly!!!

UNC looks like the team to beat.
Xavier is keeping the mid-major hopes alive.
Western Kentucky made a nice comeback and scored 58 points in the 2nd half, cutting the gap to just 4 points late in the game, but fell short against UCLA.

I think UNC and UCLA are two of the Final Four teams but UNC will make the final game while UCLA might just struggle with Memphis.

I think Michigan State, Texas or Stanford can (and will) beat Memphis before they go to the final four ... they've been skating on thin ice for too long.

With how bad the Big Televen was this year, it's amazing they have two final four contenders. The separation between the good and the bad was colossal!
      Go Braves!

Your right about the separation in the Big Ten this year. Up until about a month ago I would have given Indiana a good chance to make a run as well but they proceeded to go into one of the worst tail spins in history. Thanks Kelvin and Dakich.

Did y'all see the box score of the W. KY vs UCLA game? How bout the 2 ball hogs from W. KY, Brazelton and Lee. They combined for 50 of the teams 72 shots LOL. Brazelton shot pretty good at 10 for 21 but Lee shot up a putrid 24% on 7 for 29 LOL. They actually might of beat UCLA had someone else shot the ball more. I'm anxious to see how Curry does against Wisconsin's D tonight.
