  • 21 points/ 20 rebounds from our center

No one has mentioned (at least that I noticed) the stats of our bigs last night and all I have heard is how we need more production from them. We got it last night w/ MS, SS and DC combining for 21 points and 20 rebounds. I don't think POB had many games w/ stats like that.
Congrats to those guys and wes keep it up as we will need 2 more games like that.
(Why mess w/ playing 3 when we can just win 2 and finish the season at home)

Obviously the production from our bigs was AWESOME last night. Hats off to them, they rose to the occasion as did the rest of the players BIG TIME!

However, to compare those 40 min stats to what a player like OB are wrong. OB's 40 min stats would have been INCREDIBLE! His problem was never production is was staying in the game with foul trouble.

The game was won on the boards. All bigs played their butts off. Virginia was 3rd best rebounding team in the ACC. Needed more of this all year. They did all the right things! Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention that there were times last night when two bigs were on the floor at the same time. I know OB's huge, but not big enough to be the 4 and the 5 all at once.

Our bigs came up huge last night. Apparently UV was high in the ACC in rebounding...not sure how that's possible. They're bigs just looked like a few bruisers, absolutely nothing special at all.

I said it in the postgame thread, our bigs really stepped up last night. They got physical and were a big reason why we got the W last night. Great job by David, Matt, Sam and Theron!

Matt Salley has been playing like a man possessed lately. He had a double/double. wow! Way to step it up, Matt!

Sounds like BU will need that effort and production again against Tulsa. Why not a 4 headed monster with 20 fouls to give. Sam, Matt, DC and Rashad.......

Hey I forgot to mention something. Last nite at BWW's everytime DC did something positive the crowd erupted. Chants of DC...DC...DC roared through the crowd. I REALLY wish DC could have heard it. As loud as it was he might have.

People REALLY want him to succeed....if for NO other reason then what its done for DC, the CBI has be invaluable for BU.

I want to say again that MS is really stepping it up and his intensity which has never been an issue was very apparent on the tube. We also had two bigs at the same time, three if you consider TW as one, which I do not. We'll need more good passing and spacing against Tulsa with TW and AW driving in and picking up fouls. Tulsa's big guy can really block shots and we'll have to make him run the floor as much as possible to tire him out. I feel confidant that our bigs can counter Tulsa's bigs. I would not have said this a month ago.
