BU/Tulsa final regular season game at the Fieldhouse in 1982 has to be right up there if not #1.

My favorite, too and loud enough that I can still hear the ears ringing...
March 8, 1988, BU beats ISU 83-59 for the Valley Title on our home floor.
No, beat just isn't the word...the Braves absolutely killed them from wire to wire.

One year later, on Feb. 20, 1989, BU led by Anthony Manuel against beat ISU in Carver 78-66 in an atmosphere nearly as loud...those were the days!

For me the Tulsa comeback and the ODU game are 1 and 1A. Tulsa was great because of the year before same situation at half and we got rolled worse in the second half. The thing about ODU is it was not close to a sell out either.

I though was thinking of back further to when JL went end to end versus ISU and there was a game that same season versus Drake that was extremely loud, I think that one wrapped up the undefeated season, that whole season was loud.

Hawks senior year versus ISU in the Valley tourny was very loud.

Of course in the Field House the win versus West Texas State in 1980 to get us to the NCAA was loud as was the win 2 year later to get us to the NIT finals. But I know that old time fans will have to say that games versus Cinny and the UNLV game in 76 had to have some loud crowds.

The quietest it ever has been was twice when Eastern Michigan and Earl Boykins made a last second shot to end the season in the NIT and the year we were on probation Drake made a miracle half court shot to win a game at the buzzer, those games created nothing but silence.

I would agree with all these as being the best of the best at Carver. I think this years Michigan State game eclipsed the MVC '88 game and maybe the Illinois games just barely.

What made the '88 game so amazing was the chanting during the semifinal rout of Creighton of "we want ISU" and then the electricity and cheering a good hour before the tip. I think the seats were full at that time.

I thought last nights game was great and rivaled some of the early Molinari era NIT games, but no where near the MVC '88 or Michigan State Games. JMHO.

I'm sure it was loud. Wish I could have witnessed a FH game. I wonder what place could get louder...I would guess the 4k more at Carver would be eliminated do to the size of the FH..lower ceilings.

Since I haven't attended many games...over the years, my sampling is quite small.

Quietest crowd was the first game I ever attended and I think the worst home loss in Carver history... a 35 point drubbing by Utah

Loudest: Should we normalize the noise to the total fans to make it fair? Difficult to compare 11000 fans to 6000 fans. I vote for the NIT game against ODU followed by the Tulsa comeback followed by the win over ISU to clinch the 1996 Valley championship.

I was not at this game, so someone please correct me if my information is wrong. What about the game some time back where Penn St was here and Bradley held them scoreless in the 2nd half for 8-10 min????? I am not exactly sure the amount of time, but I remember hearing about it and everyone standing and making noise that whole time.

Again, I wasn't there so I could be way off, but if that's the case I would imagine it got pretty loud.

Well, since I attended the BU/Tulsa and BU/ODU games, I can attest they were indeed loud! So my vote definately goes to those two. Also, the BU/DePaul game at the beginning of last season wasn't bad either, especially in the second half.

I'm a student at BU now and have been going to Bradley games since I was 3, so I basically have the Molinari and Les years as a sample, and my memory isn't great of the early years. Wasn't there a Bradley-ISU game where AP hit a fade-away or two near the top of the key at the end of the game that made the place go nuts?

As well as being a Bradley fan, I'm also a Colts fan and usually see one or two games a year in Indy. When that dome gets going the whole stadium shakes. The only time I can remember feeling Carver shake was the Michigan St game this year, so that'd be my choice.

We beat Eastern Michigan in triple OT in the first round about 3 days before the event you're referring to.

It was actually Canisius that beat us with a tip-in after a terrible 3 point bank shot was missed by their star player back in the 1994-1995 season. Your are right...it was dead silence after that. What kills me about that game is that the tip went through the hoop with 1.3 seconds left and the refs didn't stop the clock. They just ran off after the horn sounded. We should have had a chance to inbound the ball with 1.3 with a chance to tie or win.

You are right it was not Eastern Michigan. Wow I am having a bad BU memory day today.

Nothing can ever be as loud as Robertson. When that place rocked, it ROCKED! And I know and we all know we have to move on... loved going to games at Robertson
I was fortunate to attend the Bradley/Illinois Weslyan game back at the beginning of the 1993/94 season. It was a one time game for old time sake, and while I never got the chance to see a game during the heyday of the field house, the noise that came out of that place just for that one game left a lasting impression on me!

And I got to graduate from that venue in 1994, which was really nice (heat not withstanding).

BU 65 Louisville 59. Tom Les trailing Phillip Bond
on a steal and diving full length at the ball to prevent
a layup. I am still shaking my head at how load it
                            was..

Long time reader, first time poster.....

I had to get in on this one:

I actually think the loudest moment occurred during the last game of Hersey's junior year against Drake when Paul announced the final score of the Wichita St/Tulsa game.

Tulsa had to lose in order for the Braves to have a chance to win the Valley. When he announced Wichita St had won, Carver went absolutely berserk.

I can't remember how much time was left in the game at that point, but the crowd never sat down and never stopped chanting "BU".

Of course, a few minutes later, the worst sports memory of my childhood occurred. There may have been a moment of silence broken by me crying my eyes out. That was a few weeks shy of my 7th birthday. I remember it like it was yesterday.
