  • Ex-BU star Brian Shouse traded

Brian Shouse has been traded from Texas to the Milwaukee Brewers. Since his family lives in Peoria, this might be somewhat good. Look at the numbers for Brian's performance against left handed batters.

This season left handers are hitting .209 against Brian
Career, left handers are hitting .218 against Brian.

I hung out with Shouse our Freshman year together - I don't think we missed an episode of Riptide 1st semester. We lived across the hall from each other. He's a great guy!

        No-no. I wish.

Another guy I hung out with my first 1 1/2 years at Bradley was Larry Smith. He transferred to Parkland CC and pursued a Communications degree from EIU. He was from Mattoon, IL. He got a start with an NBC affiliate in C/U, later getting a job with another NBC affiliate in a larger market in Florida (West Palm Beach). He then got his break when he made a visit to a friend in NY. On the way up on a Friday, he left a couple demo tapes at the CNN office in Atlanta. They asked him if he was applying for a particular opening or if he had been contacted to drop them off and he said no - just wanted CNN to have them on hand in case something opened up. When he returned home on Sunday, he had a phone message waiting for him for a job at CNN.

And THAT'S.... the rest of the story.

I have talked with Brian a few times. Very humble guy. Enjoyed talking cars with him. Hope this is a great move for him....

I have never met Brian but am aware of his support of numerous local charities, and of he and his wife's involvement in several local causes. Since the article states Brian was designated "for assignment" by Texas, I would guess getting picked up by Milwaukee is a decent alternative.
But going from the division leaders (Texas) to a team that will have to turn things around in order to make the postseason is tough.

Brian also has a strong testimony of his faith, and is an inspiration to many kids he works with.
Here near the bottom of the page is a story of Brian.

And a story from the Bradley Hilltopics
