if you guys got this one at home, i'd pick you.....but i was there tonight and it was freaking loud, our arena is built to hold in crowd noise and when you have dedicated fans in the lower level (none of the regular season ticket holders get priority for cbi games) it's easily one of the loudest in the country
Singletary is their best player, I'd like to see AW start the game guarding him because of his length, the guy can really fill it up. I've seen them a play a few times this season. I've seen them play well and I've seen them get absolutely pasted in both their own building and on the road. Hopefully the team that played the last 10 minutes against Ohio shows up for us, it's gonna take a great effort but we can beat these guys, and we can't dig ourselves a hole like we did tonight.
Also, their coach is former DePaul head man Dave Leitao.
Feel dumb for asking, but why are we not at home? Other than the stupid HS musical which blows in every way. Thanks, Walt Disney.
I think it was posted in another thread, but it's something along the lines of the CBI big wigs didn't want the possibility of an all Conference USA matchup in the final so they pitted Houston and Tulsa against eachother in the semi's. I understand their reasoning completely but on the other hand to have the two No. 1 seeds remaining in the tourney face eachother in the semi's is kind of rediculous.
I noticed that VA split the playing time very evenly thruout its roster, i'm not sure of there normal starters, is that normal for VA? Maybe just trying to get playing time for next years players like Les has been doing.
Just a curious thought and please don't look at this in any way, shape, or a form as me looking past Virginia because there is no way I would do that. But with the matchups how they are, would that theoretically make us a 4 seed and Virginia a 1 seed so if we do win and get to the finals, we would have a maximum of one home game in the three game series?
In my opinion, the "seeding" of the CBI has been a farce. The "seeding" has been mostly determined by who is willing to pay the fee and host games, and somewhat by crowd enthusiasm. I haven't seen whether Tulsa or UVA is the supposed #1 "seed." Here is how I think it will play out. If Houston beats Tulsa I believe they will be the "lower seed" in the finals...the BU/UVA winner will be the "higher seed." If Tulsa beats Houston, it's tougher to say. UVA, BU, and TU can all make a case for hosting twice based on fan enthusiasm at the games so far.
If you did a true seeding based on RPI, it would be (1) Houston, (2) Tulsa, (3) BU, (4) UVA. Based on Sagarin, it would be (1) Houston, (2) Tulsa, (3) UVA, (4) BU. Either way, the top 2 are playing each other in the semis, as are the bottom 2. Based on play the last part of the season, Tulsa and BU would be the top 2 seeds. BU's arena is not available...thus they cannot be a 1 or 2 seed now.
Houston never wanted to host. Their fan support is not great and thus they wanted no part of the $60,000 fee. That is why I think they have at most 1 home game left. I'm looking out for my best interests and I want Tulsa and BU in the finals and Tulsa to be the higher seed. That means I may get to see BU twice here, and I will be rooting for them if and when that happens.

I'm guessing that's correct, since we are playing at the only other #1 seed left in the tournament. I don't understand the "re-seeding" at all. How are we one of the top four seeds out of all 16 teams and then we are the fourth seed of the final four teams?
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12
