Salley has stepped up these last few games. I don't think that comment is needed here at all.

I realize shooting free throws in pre-game shootaround isn't going to raise your percentage 10%. The point I was making is that maybe we should be getting into the mindset of what our rolls will be during the game instead of bigs trying to be guards and guards trying to be Kobe. We looked like the And 1 team and Ohio looked like a division one team in a postseason tournament.

I agree. Salley has played much better the 2nd half of the season, and has given us all he possibly can. He's limited as to what he can do, plain and simple. I was as hard on MS as anyone (for on and off-court matters), but I think the performances lately of Singh, Austin, and even Collins has showed us why we needed Matt Salley logging 30+ minutes every night this year.

I agree that Matt has played better these last few games, but missing the bunnies is something that has plagued him all season long and it's very frustraiting to watch our starting forward continue to miss wide-open baskets inside of two feet!

MS's defense has been invaluable, and his hustle late in games has been a decisive factor. He's played bigger than his physical size and done everything he can to limit opposing bigs (who are usually much bigger than him). Seriously, give him some credit. I know he's made some stupid plays and he refuses to dunk in the post, but he doesn't deserve to be a pariah for it. Are we in Philadelphia or New York? I thought we supported our players as long as they give it their all.... I'm behind MS all the way, and I hope he has a huge game tonight.
Here's the deal, Wyoming for football, Bradley for basketball.

Understood. It's not so much what they were doing before the game, but how they were doing it. Pretty much lolligagging and messing around. They didn't get in the right frame of mind. That had better not be the case tonight, or it'll be over before it starts.

I agree. Coming from behind on Ohio or Cinci is one thing. Doing it on the road at Virginia is another. We need to come out with some fire tonight.

Just this guys opinion but Bradley will struggle to fill the roles left by Crouch, then Salley, then Ruffin: in that order.

Salley isn't great but he gets basically 7 points, 7 boards and a block a game while being the only tough inside guy who doesn't foul every two seconds. That stuff isn't lost on me.

We lose three starters, but just as Drake lost four senior starters last year, I think we will have to work hard to find someone to fill those roles.

I thought Bradley was still trying to replace Big Pappy.

I'm gonna take issue with those numbers when it comes to conference opponents, which is where a team positions itself for a run in the postseason.

Salley scores seven points in 8 of 19 games.

Salley has seven rebounds in 12 of 19 games.

Salley has seven points and seven rebounds in 5 of 19 games.

Oh yeah....and he's the only "inside guy" shooting under 50% from the field. The others are all 60% or better.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

His season totals are 6.0 ppg, 6.6 rpp, and 1.0 bpg. Hey, if the other guys were better they would be playing. They aren't. It's still 24-25 minutes a game that needs to be filled.

And there lies the problem......when Matt Salley is our best option as a starting center.

That does not make him a tough guy to replace simply because he has the job by default.

Yes, but Anthony Thompson is the only new guy (as of now) who isn't currently available for playing time. If AT put up 6 points and 6.6 boards next year I will do cartwheels.
