Lets see, Indiana makes the NCAA and lose their first game. The Illini are watching the game on TV. How does that make it a great day for Illinois fans?

I was wondering the same thing? How was Illinois' post season game this year? The whole thing with Kelvin sux and as an IU fan I am embarrassed that it happend, it's unfortuante because it obviouly affected the team greatly and there was certainly enough talent on IU's team for them to make a deep run in the tourney, but it didn't work out that way.
Justice is served. You reap what you sow Indiana. You sold your soul to the devil, and you ended up in basketball h-ll. Your coach was fired, your recruits are leaving, the player you cheated for is leaving, you have zero Big 10 titles or NCAA wins to show for your actions, and your program is on the verge of postseason bans, scholarship losses, and infractions that will take years to recover from. I hope it was worth it.
Indiana gets dominated by Arkansas, 86-72 as Eric Gordon struggles, going 3-14 for the game.
Illini Nation must be smiling, god knows I am!!
At one point the annoncers said he was 7-44 from three since KS left.
They obviously aren't the same team and as an Illini fan too I don't feel sorry for them but they are not same team without KS. I don't know if they don't like Dakich or if it was just all the distraction or combination but it showed in their play
First they took some public relations hits for firing Bobby Knight, but just as Mike Davis was getting a chance to see his Top Rated 2004 recruiting class mature, they canned him for reasons that still seem a bit inexplicable.
Then they hire a proven cheater, and proceed to violate both the NCAA rules (many, many hundreds of times) and Gentlemens' rules by going after a recruit that had already pledged himself elsewhere.
I personally DO believe that bad actions will still end in bad results, or as some say what goes around, comes around, or you reap what you sow....
IU is in the midst of reaping what they have sown, and more is yet to come.
They will lose two All Americans who couldn't help them win either their own tourney or even one game in the NCAA tourney.
They also have grumbling and dissatisfied juco kids who'll come back next year expecting and demanding to start and play, and nobody yet knows even who the coach is going to be, so expect a bit of disenchantment yet to come.
And then there are the impending NCAA sanctions that still might include more scholarship losses and post-season ban.
Why any recruit would want to step into this mess is beyond me, and at least the two best recruits for next have already backed out, as have their top two recruits for 2009 (Elston & Stephenson), and their top two targets in 2010 (P'Shon Howard & DeShaun Thomas).
Their future is melting away as they form committes to pick a new coach, and don't be surprised if some of the guys they actually want for a head coach, have the guts to turn them down because of the mess they have.
If they settle for a guy like Scott Skiles, who's never coached college ball and has never had experience recruiting, they might get stuck where they are.

Eric Gordon was 0-12 from 3-pt range in the postseason, which includes a first round loss in the Big Ten tourney and the one-and-done appearance in the NCAA
He was 7-50 since Sampson was fired., but prior to the Arkansas game in which he was 0-6, he was as they stated, 7-44.
But the real slide started the instant he hit that sloppy, banked in 3-pointer to beat Illinois back on Feb. 7. Prior to that we was shooting nearly 45% from 3-pt range, but since then he has gone 13-70 (18%), and now ends the season at only 33%.
It is the curse of Illiniwek.

Because it's great Karma for Indiana, and no self-respecting Illini fan can stand Indiana. And who's gonna brag about losing in the first round? All that cheating and you can't even get past the first round? I thought this was supposed to be the year Indiana really went deep into the tournament and put them back on the map. Oops, guess not. It's just a nice bit of revenge for Illinois fans, who will now watch the Indiana program fall even deeper, to the point that they probably won't make the tournament at all next year.

5-STAR (the #1 rated SF in the nation and #3 rated player overall) Lance Stephenson has made it official, he has eliminated Indiana, just more fallout from the Sampson scandal....
"Right now the list is Memphis, UCLA, Kansas, Arkansas, and North Carolina,??? Lance will be ready to make a decision sometime before the high school season starts."
