  • Team BU needs to add to its nonconference schedule

    BAYLOR!

Wow, are they fun to watch. Here's the reason why we should be aggressively trying to get a series going:

    1. They play an open-ended, guard-centric offense, just like we do. The magic number for the game would be about 80-85. It would be a blast to see these two teams going head-to-head.
    2. Their coach, Scott Drew, is a young guy who is turning around a program left in the gutter. He, being the son of Valpo coach Homer Drew, comes from a "mid" school background.
    3. We already have ties in Texas (former and current players, as well as an assistant coach and BU fans).

    What do you think?
    Go Braves!

Also...other than stating the obvious they're also BU ... they're a very poor rebounding team ... similar to another BU we know pretty well!

Would our BU chants be out of place? I think that Baylor would be a great team to add. Are they worth doing a 2 for 1 like Michigan St, I don't know. It would be a lot of fun to see both BU's get up and down the court.

Their guard-centric offense is getting the lumber put to them by Purdue. That said, I'd like to see the two BU's square off. Waco is only 100 miles from Dallas ... definately would go down to see the game.

They are in Waco? I think Cat has a facility there, too.

I want to add more home games against solid mid-majors and road games against BCS teams. I don't really care who they are. No more roadies against inferior conferences (like the Horizon), especially to open the season.

I don't mind playing a Horizon on the road.

I sure as heck have a problem playing FOUR Horizons on the road though.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bradley play against a good BCS team such as Baylor (and winning). In addition, while Bradley only played a 2-OT this year, Baylor played a 5-OT game!

We should cut a deal to play ASU in Peoria, AZ.
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...

But do we really want to challenge ESPN to find the difference between Peoria, IN and Peoria, AZ?

There is no good reason to play Baylor 2 for 1 as our program is as good if not better then their"s; We need to schedule teams on an even basis as there are plenty of teams that are willing to play 1 for 1 games or even do the 3 games with 1 on a neutral site , I like to see BU play good teams but if you are only doing it to boost your RPI to get into the NCAA tour then you are doing it for the wrong reason as the smaller schools get overlooked when it comes down to being judged bu their good RPI"s.
