There isn't much time to properly promote this game. The BU people, and John Searby do a prety good job.

It may be that the CBI has specific rules about promotions. I know the NIT does. They limit a lot of what home teams can do to promote themselves, they prohibit a lot of cheerleader activity, they prohibit throwing things into the c rowd!

Sounds like it should be a good matchup. Now we just need to see which UC team shows up. We have been very inconsistent. One day we can beat Louisville or Pitt on their court, the next game we are losing to DePaul or Providence. They played well in their last game in the Big East tourney against Pitt. Well, Vaughn did at least. He dropped 30 on them and went a run in the second half where he scored 20 points before another Bearcat scored.

Every game should be a red out.
Here's the deal, Wyoming for football, Bradley for basketball.

I agree... but didn't we do a white-out for the Providence game last year?

Some of the UC fans are REALLY unhappy about this whole thing...

Quoted from a blog..."This is just so unbelievably exciting! Who would have ever guessed that after we had a run of MANY consecutive REAL tournament appearances that we would appear in this gutter tournament? Playing against Bradley and possibly Brown. After that, maybe we can play Big Girls State University again or maybe Coppin State. Oh, that's right, even 20 loss Coppin State is in the REAL tournament. Happy UC fans. Or is it - Happy, UC fans??"

I myself am excited and don't see anything wrong with a 3rd tounament...it's better than the season just being over.

He has been the most consistent player on the floor for us. Even with teams focusing on him, knowing we don't have many other scoring options, he has still averaged more than 17 and was first team all Big East. He is one of those guys that is just fun to watch. He works very hard without the ball to get open and has a good shot. He is very clutch and is the guy you want with the ball at the end of a game.

SUb...just having some fun with ya. A few years ago when BU went to the dance we were matched up against Kansas. SOME of their fans came to our board talkin alot of smack. One rather hilarious post was centered around a particular players dunking skills complete with a video to further impress us......needless to say we were all just awestruck as BU had no one that was capable of such athletic feats.

Well after disposing of KU in the first round we got a little more of the same talk from Pitt fans.......

Not putting your comments in the same class as those of course. Look forward to seeing Vaughn...sounds like a good player. Any team that can hang with Pitt should be a formidable foe..

I know exactly what blog that came from. The people that post there do not represent most of our fanbase. They are the bandwagon fans and the ones who are still pissed about Huggins firing. Go to the ncaabbs board that is linked in the beginning of this thread to get a better prespective. Most of us are happy that the team is getting a chance to extend the season.
Our team has 0 scholarship players with more than 1 year of D-1 experience coming into this season. Any chance they get to play and improve is a good deal.

We beat them one of the three times we played Pitt this year. The other 2 games were very close.

Vaughn is a blast to watch, even if you are rooting against UC. The fact that he is only a sophomore really bugs the rest of the Big East. If you remember Steve Logan, he reminds a lot of Bearcat fans of him.

This should be interesting to watch. I've seen Vaughn and he is very, very good. BU's senior guard Daniel Ruffin has struggled against really good guards and often times BU loses those games. Hopefully that isn't the case with Vaughn.

I haven't seen a line but I'm guessing something like BU by 3 or 4.

Y'ah, but that was a special event and it was declared and supported by the powers that be. I just think that it is implicit that every game should be a red out regardless. (The students still wore red for the white out, by the way).
