  • Another "up and coming" coach fired

TCU coach Neil Dougherty was fired Sunday night after six seasons, only one of which ended with a winning record.
I recall his name mentioned by a people just a couple years ago when the "Fire Jim Les" talk was at a fever-pitch.

Why is everything a 'Jim Les' issue?

All I stated was a fact.
There were people calling for a new coach at Bradley just a little over 2 years ago. Names like Neil Dougherty were thrown around as examples of highly qualified coaches who paid their dues as assistants (under Roy Williams), and who some said were much better candidates for the job at Bradley. Sorry if you don't like to hear it. I did not intend to get into a big discussion about it, just point it out because some might remember the name and wonder why they had heard it on message boards in Peoria before. I wasn't going to mention it again. It was brought up as a rip on Jim Les, and against the Bradley coaching selection process. It just shows nobody can know how well a coach can do after you hire him.

I think DC was just trying to put his info on the TCU coach into context so that those of us on the board might better remember his name...................nothing more
