Ultimately money is the motivator for all of these tournaments (NCAA included). However, there are enough quality teams that a 16 team field can be comprised without lowering itself to the depths of a 19 loss Illini team, or any other bottom-feeding BCS team.

True but in our case, can you honestly say that if we get IUPUI at home we're going to draw anywhere close to what we would if we got Illinois?


And regardless of who wins, if its a 2 v 3 matchup, we'd both draw better than probably 12 of 16 of the other teams in the event....

Its pretty much a win-win...especially if you're going to let Virginia and Alabama in, who have done a whole lot of nothing this year...


That and they also stated that you don't have to have a winning record as req. to get in...

Its still plausible that it could happen...


Not to say that I want it to, but for arguments sake...it is possible

Why wouldn't Northern Iowa be considered for this too? They had the same conference record as us, and won in STL. Either way glad to see us playing again.

I'm pretty solid w/ the teams, but you never know about the BCS teams whether they want to persay "lower their standards" to take a bid...

Other than that, the pairings were done more on a record/RPI/geographic location guesstimation
