Can anyone explain how the selection to the CBI works? I was under the impression that schools needed to commit before the NIT pairings were announced and not a lot of schools (especially on the NIT bubble) were unwilling to do that. Are these teams still in consideration? Are they calling these teams now to get committments? I guess I just expected an announcement sooner than this.Comment

The CBI people sought commitments earlier this week, and some schools gave "if they don't make the NIT" contingency commitments, but the final selections were made tonight by the people behind the tournament, the Gazelle Group.Comment
