Does anyone else feel like the stigma of the NIT is diminishing. I'd be happy to play against these teams. The two finalist of last years NCAA are in the NIT now...I really think that with all this talk of expanding the NCAA tournament and some big schools going into the NIT that the NIT is losing some of it's bad reputation and is making a case of being a really good legitimate tournament..

CBI is the new NIT..it's too bad we couldn't get into this..that'd help us out with recruits

Yes, if we had a recruit visit, I would much rather it be for an NIT game.

Creighton and SIU in the same bracket....Those guys were worried about the Valley getting several teams in the NIT Final Four.

Illinois did not make the NIT- so maybe Illinois will be in the CBI.

They're both 2nd rate tournaments. It doesn't really matter which tournament we're in. I want TV games, and I want a legitimate shake at making a run. It looks like that NIT is better in the TV regard this year, but their seedings are still very questionable. The CBI has a decent number of games televised. I anticipate that if this is successful, there will be even more games televised next year.

I've seen Arizona St play a few times this season and SIU has a good chance of beating them, if they both can get by their first game. ASU has several freshmen, so they definitely have a team of the future. Hardin, Pendergrass and Glasser are their big 3.
