I agree with SanFranciscoPete and BradleyGuy10. On top of what they say, I am very concerned about how the message the Committee sends to mid-majors year after year might hurt our recruiting and potential for growth as a program. Recruits that may come to Bradley will instead choose to play for really bad teams in power conferences because they see it as a higher percentage shot to play for a national championship.

I mean, you can give S. Alabama a 10 seed, where they are on the S-curve....or drop them solely to avoid a mid vs. mid matchup. It'd be unfair to drop USA just to avoid that.
It happens. It just happens.
And I personally like mid vs. mid's because it gives several mids a guarantee of getting to within one game of the Sweet 16. If no mids play each other, there is no guarantee any will make the Sweet 16!

Good recruits only care about publicity, tv, and coverage, at least the ones that think they have a chance of making it to the NBA. I agree that maybe more recruits will go for a middle of the pack BCS school than some of the better mid-majors.Thinking is the hardest work, that is why so few people do it. -Henry Ford

Never ever. Polls are worthless. For everybody.
With Drake's numbers similar this year to Butler's, how did Butler not get at least a five seed, or even a six seed?

Yes they don't have those three meaty top 50 wins they had last year in the preseason NIT (Notre Dame, Gonzaga and Tennessee), but that is beyond their control.

I had them as a 5, I can see the argument for 6.

A 6 makes a lot of sense for Butler if you give Drake a 5.
Also, as was said earlier, ppl are forced to use polls because there's no way that the selection committee can watch every game that every team plays all season. If they even saw 2 or 3 games from a lot of the teams, that would be really good. I just hope they watch more games than Packer. I'm not sure he watches any games unless he's working them. Maybe you can watch every game played in NCAA div 1 and then create your "S curve" to let teams into the tourney and not use any polls or RPI for help because they mean "nothing."
They obviously look at the polls somewhat since the #1 seeds are 1, 2, 3, and 5 in the AP and 1-4 in the ESPN poll. But they mean nothing. So that's cool. My bad. If only I had a magic curve to place teams where they belong.
Butler got screwed. SCREWED. I think Drake is a little low, but I honestly expected them to get screwed badly (like get a lower seed than Butler) so there's not much to complain about there.
ISU didn't beat anyone good this year so they don't really have a lot to complain about.

Drake as a 5 is about right.imo Drake beat Butler this year at Butler so a 6 or 7 seed for Butler is about right as well.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
