Michigan coach John Beilein supposedly had an assistant in Peoria to watch Class 2A Pinckneyville star Kyle Cassity, who they were considering offering.
Cassity told the Wolverine.com (Michigan's Rivals site) that he had offers from Penn State and a couple smaller schools, and been recruited by Michigan and St. Louis and had visits set to both those schools.

But before Cassity could visit Michigan, another similar 6'4" shooting guard verballed to Michigan.
Zack Novak, a BU recruit, visited Michigan on Thursday and Friday. He gave a verbal commitment to Beilein today. His only other offers were reportedly from Oakland University, Valparaiso, and IPFW.--

It appears Michigan was entertaining another 2008 shooting guard on a visit this weekend, so UM probably put the pressure on Novak to pull the trigger.--
