    Creighton bounces resilient BU

And here is John Supinie's article about the Illini's last game, and Senior day for Shaun Pruitt and Brian Randle.
The way he has been treated by Illini "fans" is really what I find the most ugly side of college basketball.--

The hate mail flowed into senior center Shaun Pruitt's inbox last month, the day after Illinois suffered a double-overtime loss to Indiana.

Pruitt, who was 1-for-7 from the free-throw line in the defeat, was a target of frustrated fans. "They said I ruined the game. I lost it by myself,'' Pruitt said. "They said I'm one of the worst free-throw shooters ever. There are people that don't like me because of that game. I can't control what they feel about me.''

If I went to a restaurant and didn't like the food, I don't think I'd go home and send hate mail to the chef.
And if I go to watch my kid play in a junior high or high school ball game, and if I don't like how some of the kids played or how the game or season went, I doubt I'd send the kids or the coach hate mail.
Even when my beloved White Sox had a pretty bum season last year, I never fired off even one hostile text message or e mail, I just turned my attention elsewhere and hoped for next season.
So it begs to be asked.....just what gives people the arrogance to do such a thing and attack a kid who is trying to do the best he can.
He isn't out there beating people up in a bar at 2AM, and he isn't cheating on finals, and he isn't making illegal phone calls............I say support the kid or leave him alone.

      Why do people do it?

Ask Kirk Wessler, he's pretty good at it!

A couple famous quotes about criticism...

"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he'll be a mile away--and barefoot." -- S. Jackson

        and

"Let the refining and improving of your own life keep you so busy that you have little time to criticize others." H. J. Brown

        and

"Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain -- and most fools do." - Benjamin Franklin

        and

"We are all generous with different things, some with talent, some with criticism." -- F.A. Clark

        and

"It is much easier to be critical than to be correct....two types of people, those who are diligent, work hard, and succeed,
and those who stand by and criticize. Why not join the former group, the line is a whole lot shorter."
        -- Ghandi
