  • Congratulations Jeremy Crouch

    First team All-Valley.

It would have been a true shame if he didn't make the first team.

Ruff honorable mention, Theron and Samman all newcomer...

Maniscalco and Wilson made the all newcomer team and Sammy also made the all-freshmen team. Daniel definitely was punished for all the games he missed. If he doesn't miss those 9 (?) games he's a first-teamer.

        Congrats, guys! Well done!

Edit -- Just for the record I thought Maniscalco was more deserving of FOY than Stinnett, but Stinnett is a good player and will be a tough matchup for us in the future.

The real travesty is Stinnett getting NOY over Theron Wilson. I can hardly believe that. I hope this lights a fire under TW for Friday's game. BU certainly should not be lacking any motivation whatsoever.

            Theron Wilson ....12.6 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 51.4% 3-pt shooting, 46% FG shooting, 1.5 spg,
            P'Allen Stinnett....13.2ppg, 3.8 rpg, 30.4% 3-pt shooting, 44.7% FG shooting, 1.5 spg,

I am biased, but Theron's rebounds and shooting pct. give him some real consideration.
Had Theron taken a whole lot more shots as PAS did (which is why his scoring avg. was higher), his scoring avg. would have been several points higher.

Yeah looking at it, I think you're right, BB, Wilson should have been the NOY... moreso than SM should have been FOY.

I think the freshman of the year and newcomer of the year should be different people? How can it be the same guy?

PS..........if not for all the missed games.....DR=POY IMO!

In the right circumstance, I think it could be the same guy, (heck it could be possible for a super dominating freshman to be NOY, FOY, POY, DOY)

Since I never recall, say seing POB getting a weekly FOW and NOW, I did not think that MVC voters ever put the same guy in both slots....

I do not think this was a strong enough case this year..

There is no way DR isn't on the 2nd team IMO......this is not right....I hope DR goes on a mission in the tourney and tears em up for MVCT's top player award....he can do it!

I'm sure everyone in the conference knows that Ruff could be the best player in the conference. He certainly could get the tournament MVP award (which most likely means Bradley would be dancing!). There's just no way he could be on the second team after missing half the conference games on the schedule. I think he's right where he should be. The awards are based on accompolishments within the season, not on pure talent or potential.

Congrats to JC, Ruff, Theron and SamMan. They're deserving of their honors and its a shame Daniel had to miss all those mid season games... we all know he has the talent to play with anybody in the league. I can't wait to see the Braves show off their second team point guard on Friday.

Not even second team. Honorable mention. He did look strangely like a first-teamer the last time we played Creighton, though.

I agree my friend, but if that's the case then Cavel Witter should be the #1 pick in the NBA Draft.

I vote we should not let MS switch off on him on every possession again...

Right on... and I'm thinking Theron and SamMan have a little motivation to show up on Friday and send P'Allen back to Omaha with nothing but his regular season kudos.
