Why in the world would anyone think that having David Collins in at the end of that CU game would have improved BU's chances to win? C'mon.
If DC was put in during that last play at CU:
A) He would have been nowhere near the basket because he would have gotten outmuscled and pushed out of the paint by whatever undersized CU defender happened to be in the vicinity.
B) If the pass would have been thrown to him, he would have dropped it or gotten it stripped before he could have even made a move toward the basket.
C) Les would have gotten fired before they left Omaha for running the last second play for a guy who is the most ineffective scholarship player on his entire roster.

Chances of seeing DC with any meaningful minutes is very doubtful. JL will not and has not ever thrown a body out on the court just for the hell of it. WE if healthy probably at best sees 1 minutes and that would be to foul someone at the end of the game if we are in foul trouble.
SS will play meaningful minutes because we do not have depth with our bigs period. SS does play smart but he's just not able to sustain long periods of decent play. We really do miss AW because he makes up for some height compared to SM and TCS and can play the 4 when we really go small which would give TW a breather."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

He's 23...he has one year of eligibility left...he'd have to sit out a year to transfer to another D-I school...

I love the Will Egolf and DC talk. Hahahaha. If we get into a situation where either one of those two see the floor we are in a world of hurt. I guess I can understand people still speculating about DC but Egolf? He's been hurt and hasn't even practiced in forever. He's got three more years to play in St. Louis--this year he's a fan.I don't smoke weed...I smoke dudes like you on the bball court

College basketball has really turned into 4 4 minute segments or 8 4 minutes segments. You play hard for 4 minutes then rest then play 4 more etc.
I really do not think minutes played are as important when your looking at a game very 3-4 days, but when you are looking at the possiblity of 3 games in less then 72 hours, minutes played can and generally always becomes an issue.
Every time we have made it to a finals, which hasnt been very often, we have normally been the team that wilts. Now 2 years ago Ruffin was sick, but the lack of energy hit us like a brick wall at the 10 minute mark versus SIU.
Anyway, JL is not going to play Egolf or Collins unless we get up by 20 + and there is less then 2 minutes to play. Neither are within the rotation. I personally think an 8 man rotation is enough in college basketball, but each of the 8 players MUST contribute.
If we get by CU, both us and who we will play will be in essentially the same boat, a few players playing heavy minutes, it will come down to staying out of foul trouble and having everyone give a contribution. If you make it to Sunday, its hope everyone has legs left and energy kicks in and stays in the system for the entire 40 minutes.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if BU wins the whole darn thing, either Will, DC or both will have seen the floor.
Those that listened to the coach's show last night heard Jim being very complimentary of DC's work ethic down the stretch.Compete. Defend. Rebound. Win.

In a single elimination tournament and five days off before the game on Friday, I can't see anyone sitting on the bench to save their legs for future games. The main guys are going to play big minutes on Friday afternoon. Ruffin probably won't come out unless he gets in foul trouble.
Of course Bradley will be a worn down team come Saturday or Sunday. However, that is better than a fresh team traveling home on Friday night.1996 & 2019
