  • This Weeks Player of the Week and NOW

The Player of the Week is Dale Lamberth

The Newcomer of the Week is Cavel Witter

Congrats to Lamberth, but I think Cavel was robbed

JC and Theron Wilson get notable mentions
"Jeremy Crouch, BU -- Averaged 25.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in Bradley's two games last week. He became Bradley's career and single-season record holder for 3-point field goals made in the game against SIU.

Theron Wilson, BU -- Averaged 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in Bradley's two games last week, while shooting 52.6 percent (10-19) from the field."

    another nice note....attendance....
"Currently, the league has drawn 1,209,748 fans in 156 home contests (7,755). Creighton is averaging a league-best 15,768...
Three Valley schools (Bradley, Creighton, Wichita State) are averaging 10,000 or better in the same season - that had never happened in the history of the MVC"

Time for a dedicated MVC channel in my opinion. Something along the lines of the Big 10 channel. Nothing but MVC games.

At the very least, the MVC should have an ESPN+ package like the B10 used to have, You could either have the paid national package, but interested local TV markets could pickup the games for free OTA broadcast (When Illini games were free in Peoria on my59)

Wow that page on mvc-sports also mentions that a 1, 2, or 3 seed has won the Valley tournament 29 of the past 31 seasons. That makes it seem like a long, uphill battle for the Braves.

Yup. The #4 won it once (Creighton 2000), and the #5 won it once (Indiana St over BU in 2001).

Some good news though - the #5 seed has made the title game 3 of the last 4 years, and out of the 1st round 4 of the last 7 years. Let's make it 4 out of 5 and give ourselves a chance at history on Sunday.
          Onward and Upward!

I'm with ya. I hope we can get a long procession of honking cars headed back to Peoria Sunday night.
