Power might be a little strong. I do think they took advantage of a down year in the MVC with all their returning starters and seniors. But my point was that it wouldn't have happened without key contributions from 5 of their 6 jucos, Slack, Richardson, Johnson, Holloway, and Sampay.

What do they have next year? Eldridge, Odiakosa, and Sampay? Beyond that, it looks like they have a bunch of below-average transfer guards.

I agree that we should keep the number of JUCO's down to a minimum. My problem with obtaining too many JUCO's is that it is hard to keep the continuity and chemistry of a team going from year to year with too many new players trying to get acclimated to the system. But I do understand the need for them this season, and like several in previous years, a couple are on track to shine next year.

The ideal situation is for us to get 3 freshman recruits each season and fill in with one juco each year according to needs; unfortunately because of defections or players not improving enough to help the team like they thought they would the staff has had to get more juco"s ; I just think it is harder to learn the system in such a short period plus you feel like you have been cheated when guys like Bennett, Franklin,Wright and Andrews leave after only 2 seasons as it goes rather quickly. You also wonder how much better would they have been if they had been here for 4 years; I didn"t mention Summerville because he was here for 3 years.
