I just got back from a great event, the Braves Scholarship Society Luncheon.
A whole lot of fine BU fans, supporters, and patrons were there, hosted by Dave Snell, several fine speakers,
including President Joanne Glasser, and of course.....the athletes and coaches.
Just by chance.....the way the seating was arranged (or maybe someone knew something, but I have no idea how),
they seated me right in front, right near Coach Les and the BU basketball players,
but also sitting absolutely right next to sophomore golfer Zach Zobrist.
ZACH ZOBRIST
Zach (a Morton, IL native and grad of Peoria Christian School) is my oldest son's best friend from even as far back
as grade school, and they'd played on the same school baseball and basketball teams since 5th grade, and I have
even coached them, so it was indeed a truly fun time to get to sit with Zach and catch up a bit,
as now that my son is off at college out of town, I don't see him as much.
Let me say this....for anyone with the means.....consider joining the Braves Scholarship Society, as it doesn't just benefit you, it benefits these fine, young athletes, as 100% of the contribution you give goes directly to the scholarship support for these kids who may not otherwise be able to attend Bradley University.
For those not yet able to produce the means for the BSS (like you, JMoney!), I hope you'll keep it mind in the future when you do become tremendously successful and rich!
