I posted something about love the sinner hate the sin, but otherwise have not chimed in on this subject.....I was told early this week what had happened and hoped that the truth would come out SOON....what a difficult situation this is....but I do take exception to the part in the PJStar about 10,000 fans who may have other motives for the outcome than a mere ends of justice ...I believe it was Mr Lyons...excuse me?

One wonders how a person can spend that much time in jail...when there is a witness that.....oh nevermind......

Meeting Monday later afternoon between JG, KK and JL after they knew everything on Monday.

JG: We need to come away with a good image.
        KK: Agreed
        JL: (shakes head in agreement)
KK: Coach - you think we can beat SIU without him?
        JL: Yes.
KK: If we win, do you think we can win at CU without him?
JL: Yes. I believe in these kids all the way.
KK: What kinda seed do we get in the MVCT in that scenario?
JL: Possible as high as a 2, but it all depends.
KK: If we split these last 2 or lose both of them, where would that leave us?
JL: Most likely in the 4/5 but maybe lower, it all depends.
JG: It looks like it might be easier to get thru the MVCT in the 4/5 game than in the other side of the bracket with SIU and/or ISU.
        KK: Very true.
        JL: No, no... you're right.
JG: So, with or without DR... the 4/5 looks most likely and looks most attractive. I propose we keep DR suspended til after the SIU game. We will have achieved a lot of good PR for our actions and we can take our chances in the 4/5 of the MVCT.
Yeah, I am not sure i can see JL that ok with keeping his star PG out another game for image's sake

I was just joking around... didn't think I would be taken so seriously.

          LOL!

I thought about the only thing in my scenario that held any water was my fake quote by JL, "No, no... you're right."

          LOL.

I have read the paper for a long time as everyone here has. Every time you read an article that someone was arrested do you always get the accused side of the story in the same article?

Guys let's just face it that the news business has become tabloid fooder for the most part. There are very few really good papers in this country and the PJS is not and never has been one so they need to keep afloat by sensationlizing their report. If you keep buying they will keep doing lazy sensational reporting. The local paper here in SF would have done the same thing! That's why I take what these papers just a step above tabloid magazines. It really is a pitty. Papers are dumbing down to what sells.

There are a few really good reporters out there but they usually move on quickly to the bigger market areas. My favorite papers are The New York Times, WSJ, LA Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune with a few international papers thrown in everything else is a crap shot combined by cut and paste journalism from AP and other news outlets (USA Today). Let's just face it, anyone with real journalistic talent probably get's out quickly because the pay is lousy or they write a book. If you want better journalism read another paper or buy one and than hire and pay for the best. You get what you pay for.

                    Sigh.

I don't think anybody would ever compare the PJStar to the NY Times or Wall Street Journal, but for people who to complain that the PJS is "shoddy," "biased" and "sensational" is silly unless they actually know what goes on in its newsroom.

                      Sigh.

People who buy the newspaper to read news don't give a rat's arse what goes on in the news room..... they buy it and read it to get the news. Real news. FACTS.

They used to get it. So the paper provided something to the consumer that had value.

                      Now?

                      Sigh.

Frankly I dont care what goes on in the PJS newsroom as I have seen the final product.

Where did I compare them?????? Not on my life would I!!!!! I'm just saying they probably do not have the same drive as a journalist from a major newspaper to get it right, the competition level is a lot lower and even the BCS of Newspapers have been shoddy lately. If they were good they probably would not be writing for the PJS. Scouter I have a personal friend who is syndicated journalist and the amount of work he goes through to get a story correct is beyond reproach. He does not dwell in the opinions but only the facts. That is all I ask for in a journalist and in a paper. The news organization for better or for worse are trying to form our opinion rather than report the news (true facts). I do not totally blame them because they have to survive and let's face it, todays society needs someone to tell them how to think if it's not the media its big brother. Well the fact is most of us who have gone to BU and other fine academic institutions are not the ones they are or should be pandering or marketing to. The masses love People magazine and other magazines like TIME are becoming tabloid fodder. There are few exceptions in this trade , The Economist is one, The New Republic which almost went bankrupt that sell fact and are truly great journalistic media. The WSJ is even changing and I'm probably really going to hate see what it looks like once RM get's his hands on it.

Look what's dominating the air waves Brittney, Paris etc...... Now that sells to the dumbing down of America. I don't know about you but that SCARES the heck out of me to see where we are going. Bring back Uncle Walter!!!!!!!

Just in case Scouter that's the great Walter Cronkite..
