  • Yet Another Award for Jeremy Crouch

PEORIA, Ill. -- In addition to being named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on Monday, today Bradley senior guard Jeremy Crouch (Pekin, Ill./Pekin H.S.) was named the Rivals.com Mid-Major Player of the Week, according to the weekly awards column posted on the popular college athletics website.? The newest award comes in honor of Crouch's play last week when he led the short-handed Braves (17-13, 9-8 MVC) to victories at then No. 16 Drake and at home versus Wisconsin-Milwaukee.? Crouch averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steal in the two games last week, while making 10-of-16 (.625) of his 3-point field goal attempts.? In the 72-71 win Feb. 19 at Drake, Crouch buried an 18-foot jumper with 11.4 seconds left to give the Braves their only lead of the second half. He finished with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including a 6-for-8 effort from 3-point range, and added six assists and four rebounds while playing on a swollen left knee that threatened to prevent him from competing. He came back with 24 points, a career-best eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in Saturday's 84-72 win against Wisconsin-Milwaukee while playing a complete 40 regulation minutes for the first time in his career.

    Jeremy Crouch
    G, Bradley
For the first time this season, the Drake crowd went home unhappy. Bradley's Jeremy Crouch made sure of that.

Crouch and Bradley handed Drake its first home loss of the season last Tuesday, with Crouch hitting with a jumper in the final 11 seconds to give the Braves a 72-71 win.

The game was only part of a hot streak for Crouch, who has scored at least 20 points in each of his past three games.

Crouch added 24 points and eight rebounds in Bradley's 84-72 BracketBuster win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday.

Good for JC, but I wish we'd taken a page out of Xavier's playbook here and declined this award with one simple sentence: Bradley University does not field a "mid-major" basketball team.

I'm not sure you really accept this award...

Congrats to JC! However I also agree with you brocks, we aren't mid-major, especially if Tom Izzo states it as fact that we are not...

Jeremy has been piling up the awards of late...and deservedly so. Lets just hope he has enough gas left in the tank (and the knee) to play for three straight days in St. Louis.

I agree JMoney but he is a senior and has the experience to know what to expect this time of year. DR not playing the last two games probably put more wear and tear on him than needed.

Bursitis is very painful and compound that with celulitis (painful in itself when in a joint area) and it's a wonder that he is playing. Celulitis is treated with steroids (not the ones Clemens used) which can lower your imune systems ability to fight off colds. The good thing he has on his side is that he is young and DR is back!
