My daughter watched the game and said it sounded like the announcers were all about talking about SIU and not much about Bradley. I thought it was interesting cause sh never hardly listens to announcers and what they say..

I re-watched the game when I got home last night and I thought they were fairly unbiased. They made mention several times about how great the crowd was in Peoria (and all the Valley schools). They also did Jeremy justice and were pretty knowledgeable about our style of play.

With all due respect I must have been listening to an entirely different game

It sounded like a pretty fair and balanced commentary of both schools to me.

I think Gottlieb does as good a job as anyone of being informed and knowledgable about who he is announcing. He did a good job again last night. His side kick was fine, but their little rant in the first half about how JC was or wasnt going to play 40 minutes was a complete waste of 5 minutes and Gottlieb's answer for why Mullins didnt travel on his rollover on the floor pass really didnt pass the Bilas eyeball test. Sorry but you cant have the ball roll over on the ground and not travel.

Its really to bad that both of our games this year with SIU were on the ESPN's and really were horribly difficult to watch. As were both the SIU games this year with CU those also both were horribly difficult games to watch. SIU is just a not TV friendly team for basketball.

He then was really confused when the crowd sat down after SIU scored. I guess since they mostly cover BCS schools, they didn't realize that some schools actually try to encourage playing defense.
or it could be that the majority of games they do at BCS schools, the lower bowl stands for the entire game!
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

To be honest I'm very confused about this, and always have been. I mean, I get how it's supposed to work, but it's like, when the other team scores we just sit down. It's like you let them score???? Well let's get quiet and sit nicely then!

It started back with our last coaching regime when the focus was more on defense (like SIU) and we just kept it because we had been doing it so long.

I believe last year there was an attempt to stand longer, but that obviously didn't work out.

Yeah, I'm always trying to stand up... And last year with the stand until media timeout thing, I was getting shouted at all the time. Bah. I just like standing!

Yes....I would rather be standing as well and I know my son enjoys getting into the games more than we're "allowed" to.

Well, I try to sit for the benefit of those behind, I guess. I don't allow anyone to affect the amount of noise I make though.

While the non-student fans don't stand up and get into it as much as I would like normally, last night was awesome. There were numerous occasions at the end of the first half and throughout the second where everyone was on their feet and the place was very loud. We need more of that next year (or perhaps this year if we can make a little run and get a home game). Nevermind....we'll just win the Valley tourney.
