  • This Week's Top 25

Tennessee is the new No. 1, getting every first place vote. Drake has fallen from No. 18 to No. 20 even though they beat Butler after losing to us.

Find the complete NCAAM Final Rankings rankings on ESPN. Includes the full votes and trend for the top 25 NCAAM teams.

Man, Drake is getting the shaft big time. Yeah they lost to us by a point but they beat a very good Butler team at Butler. Talk all year is whether Drake could beat a top 25 team and they beat a #8 team, yet they still drop 2 spots in the rankings. I would think they stay neutral at the least. Very odd.

I think the fact that Drake dropped shows how little the Valley, and Bradley, continues to be regarded nationally despite the conference's recent RPI and tournament successes. If any other school ranked above the Dogs had lost at home by 1 to a fourth place team in their "Big/Power" conferences -- their first home loss of the year -- and then beat a Top Ten team on the road, do you think THEY would have dropped?

Oh well. Life in the mids. I see Bracketology currently has Drake a 5 seed. That's likely the best they can expect even if they win out since for gosh sake they already have three losses.....

Hope they chop down a big program or two in the NCAAs like we did two years ago...

I can't believe Drake dropped two spots. I figured they would probably hold steady as beating Butler (a top ten team) on the road should have more than cancelled out a loss to Bradley. I figured they move up about one or two spots to about 15 and Butler would drop to about 15 and be about even with Drake. It makes me think they would have dropped out of the top 25 if they had beaten anyone but Butler on Saturday.

Agreed. That was bogus! These voters still don't have a clue. I'm with you in that I would have been happy had they stayed steady, but no, the actually get punished for beating Butler! Go figure!

Well, the good news is that at least Kent St entered both polls, and Gonzaga and BYU each entered one of the two polls (two West Coast Conference teams ranked in the AP poll at the same time). Even Davidson is closing in on the top 25 in the ESPN poll. That's the most non-BCS teams I think I have ever seen in either of these polls at the same time!
