  • Chicago Public League Finals

All year the pundits keep telling us that Simeon is the top team in Chicago, but every game that Simeon has a chance to prove it they fall short.
    Deja vu............

Simeon got bumped even before the CPL semi-finals by Farragut and Farragut & Marshall met for the CPL Championship.

Marshall won 55-51 with Ryan Hare and Davaris Davis leading the way.
Farragut's Class of 2008 #1 prospect, Michael Dunnigan was not his team's leading scorer, Marvin Thigpen was.

Yep, the games were on local TV up here...caught some of them. The only thing I'll say in defense of Simeon is that since the CPS teams play in mixed regionals and sectionals instead of their own super-sectional it has watered down the importance of the CPS playoffs a bit. If my alma mater can win on Wednesday against Mt. Carmel we'll get Farragut at home on Friday. Should be something to see! May be one of the most athletic high school teams I've ever seen. Dunnigan is a man! 6-10 and real strong. Here's a story on that sectional which may be the toughest in state history (thanks stupid four classes):
