#3 is Joe Barry Carroll by the Warriors in 1980. The Warriors even traded Robert Parrish and the rights to Kevin McHale to get this pick!
#8 is an obscure fact, that the White Sox used their top pick (#5 in the first round) in 1985 to take Kurt Brown. He never reached the majors, but the guy the Sox passed on went #6 to the Pirates, Barry Bonds.
