College Sports is Different from Pro Sports

When you choose to be a fan of a college sports team this season is sometimes what you get -- injuries, player mistakes and troubles, under-achieving..... This is what makes college basketball so exciting to me. Most every season begins with promise and potential and the dynamics, chemistry, health, and discipline of the players and coaches will determine if the season ends in success or failure.

Always remember that these are KIDS, not professionals getting paid, and kids make mistakes. It's the job of the coach and administration to help these kids make good life decisions and, when they don't, to also help them deal with and handle their mistakes in a professional manner.

It's never too late to correct a mistake and to continue to be a lifetime family member of the Bradley Nation.

If there is anyone on this board that has been hoping this isnt true and no assuming the worst it is me. I received phone calls about the incident at 10 this morning and have been depressed ever since.

Its obvious that they have to suspend him for tonights game, there is nothing else they can do about that. My hope is however that we havent got the whole story yet and he will be able to play the rest of the year.

As far as he topic of this post goes, I am just trying to joke around and put some people in a better mood. I mean are you really serious to thinking I mean anything by this?

I am just in shock right now and it seems like I am just waiting for the next ba thin to happen. Hopefully I am wrong

I wasnt spectulating or judging. All I know is ruffin got in trouble and he is suspended for tonights game. I wish it could of been avoided and hope everything gets straighten out and he is able to return next game.

At 23 years old you are know longer a kid, you are an adult getting paid in the form of a free eduaction and free room and board amoung other things. This was not a freshman getting a drinking ticket or pulling a prank.
