I don't think this will matter much to anyone at Illinois, since the kid is still their savior regardless,
even though the kid's only goal seems to be finding a way to get to the NBA a quickly as possible.
He is OJ Mayo all over again......

I'm a bit surprised by this, but it had become obvious in recent weeks that Richmond was unhappy with the way he was utilized at Waukegan. There was already talk that he would switch schools for next year - it appears he now has no choice.
By the way, I don't view Richmond as a savior - Illinois has a great 2009 class that will probably make more of a long-term impact than Richmond, plus Crandall Head is looking like an elite talent in 2010. Illinois would survive if they lost Richmond.

"maintaining his allegiance to the orange and blue."
News about Chicago sports from the Chicago Tribune: Bears, Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks, Sky and more.
.......can't help but ask....isn't this exactly what Charlie Villanueva and Eric Gordon said??
By the way...this article also has an interesting comment........
"Illinois was the first school to contact me, when I was in 7th grade."....Jereme Richmond.
Note in this document that no contact can be initiated by the coach until after the recruit's sophomore year!
--"You may begin receiving recruiting materials June 15 after your sophomore year"
--"Coaches CANNOT call recruits once per month, beginning June 15 after your sophomore year"

Wow...Jereme Richmond is the #2 rated player in his class in the entire NATION!
BUT....he didn't even make the Sun Times All-Chicago Area Team!
Wanna read a pretty scathing rip....?
"He is the poster child for what is wrong with high school basketball today, a spoiled brat who thinks
the game is all about scoring and shooting and dunking and styling"
