First of all, Ruffin has not been found guilty of anything, and at tonight's game and at Tuesday night's game he will not have been convicted of anything. So, yes, I would show him my support.
But if you read what I said, it has nothing to do with what I would do.
It reads-- I don't doubt for a second that if Daniel was introduced tonight, or on Tuesday at Senior Night, that he would receive a rousing ovation of support. Do you disagree?
Do you disagree? I guarantee DR will get a rousing ovation if he is at either of the 2 remaining home games as the fans will show him their support.
But if Ruffin or any player is found guilty of a crime, they would be dismissed and they would no longer be a part of the team, so of course there would be no ovation.
I was just asking you a question as to how you personally would respond...you answered it.
If Ruff is suspended for the rest of the year and isn't eligible to play in the SIU game, that will tell me all that I need to know about the incident...and therefore, no, I will not give him a "rousing standing ovation" if he is there in street clothes during senior night.
If, in fact, this situation has been "completely blown out of proportion" and Ruff is innocent of any wrongdoing, then the University should be able to make this judgement prior to the SIU game...
And yes, if he is in uniform for the SIU game, I will be more than happy to give him an ovation...
Would that be some sort of indication as to how much of a fan they are? The fact the people post at all indicates they are in the top 5% of Bradley fans. If everybody on the boards cheered the sameway, thought the same way on every issue and posted the same way this would be a really boring board.
I never said any of that. Don't put words in my mouth.
I think we should probably reserve our Senior night judgement or if Ruff should or should not play until we hear from Danny himself on his side of the story. Women can be mighty big instigators and things happen. It may have been mutual in this case but Ruff may have not had any visible injuries. I want to hear what Ruff has to say before I think he should play again or not.
From the most basic standpoint, I think we can all agree we are disappointed/shocked/frustrated. However, as has been said, if Ruff is wearing a uniform on senior night I will stand up and clap. He has been so much for this team, and I don't feel that one mistake should turn the fans on him. However if he is proven guilty then that is another story...

Just for what it's worth, I'm talking to a lawyer buddy of mine. He says that getting arrested like this on the weekend probably means the police arrested him on probable cause and that he won't be charged with anything until a prosecutor looks at the case. Until then, Ruffin will be in jail, and then on Monday he could be charged with the crime or released. So, I think that's probably why the university made the statement like they did-- suspended indefinitely until more details are available. So if charges are pressed they'll have to make another decision, if he is instead released without a charge, I'd imagine they'll reinstate him.
