  • Coach Helps Player with Draft

Sorry if this has already been talk about. I was at POB press conf. and POB himself said that his parents did all the work/facts finding. POB even said that it was his parents that spoke to people around the lead. Even when his step Dad was being interviewed by Dave R. he went into more detail about it. It's a shame that what POB said on air and what his step Dad said was never mentioned on Week Tv are in the PJStar. Don't get me wrong I am a Coach Les fan but this is not right at all. It seems like Coach Les is trying to take all the credit.

I really doubt that Patrick O'Bryant, nor his mom or step dad know even one player who has even spent even one day in the NBA, save for Jim Les.
Jim probably knows more about the dealings, contractual stuff, obligations, concerns, and snares of dealing with NBA people than the sum total of everyone Patrick O'Bryant's family has ever met.
How can you imply that Patrick has not gained benefit from the information and work that Jim Les and his staff have done for Patrick.
The very link you give says Patrick
"DIDN'T HIRE AN AGENT" ... and
"IS LEANING HEAVILY ON HIS COACH AND NBA PLAYER JIM LES AS THE NBA DRAFT GETS CLOSER"

I was at the press conference and Patrick gave the credit to his parents. I'm not going to fight with you about this. I am reporting what I heard so I'm not making it up.

What are you talking about? When did Jim Les take any credit for anything?

Jim Les has given the O'Bryants some valuable advice regarding the NBA and financial matters. And the O'Bryants have done everything the right way, by seeking input from a number of independent sources. That's the way it should be. If you are suggesting that Jim Les should be doing more for the O'Bryants, you are wrong. He would then be acting as an agent for them, which would not be allowed. All he can do is advise.
I think everyone from the coaches to POB and his family have handled this in the most respectable and high-class way.

I'm not saying the Coach Les should be doing more for POB.

What I'm trying to say is that they left out information. But hey that my opinion on the whole thing.

Do you not have anything better to do with your life than hang out on the tow bulletin boards and post negative comments on JL? It is not opinion that you post - it is persistent character assassination driven by who-knows-what motive.

Sorry if you feel like I'm trying to be negative (I'm not). As for being on both message boards what is wrong with that. I see other user doing the same thing so what makes me any different
