  • Player overview...

JC....first did anyone here know he had a bad wheel (knee). So bad JL wasn't sure he could go against DU. Playing his best ball of the year. His stroke looks sweet. Confident and can break down guys going to the hoop IF his threes are not on.

Ruffin...settled down when he first came back but forced some stuff the last few games. Still playing good though and I think he really wants it. Needless to say he is the key to how far we go.

Salley...best ball I've seen him play since Iowa State last year. Just hit the boards, play D and get an occasional layup or flush.

Sam...struggled when Danny came back for a few games but I think he was re-discovering his role. Made some HUGE plays and looks better the last few games. Didn't like all the drives to the hoop against DU but I think he'll learn to maybe stop and pull up opposed to taking it in against the big guys.

Theron...undersized but won't get out-worked by anyone. Was big against DU. I love his game. Smart and won't force things.

Austin...keep working hard. Getting more and more comfortable. THink he was sick for a couple games. ANYTHING he gives us is a bonus. Good to see him coming on.

Cole-scott...appears to be letting things come to him. Same as Austin...keep working and anything we can get is a bonus.

Sam Singh...not sure what to say. Seen some good and not so good but he always gives us what he has. Knows his role.

    ADub...get well soon...real soon.

Did not know about JC's bad wheel untl the postgame interview.

I usually rely on Da Coach and BradleyBrave to keep us up to speed on this things.

Hope JC isn't swollen/hurtin too bad today that it jeopardizes his future.

Who knows... if AW is healthy and Bradley doesn't play JC to help recovery... do we win at Drake?

Agree Dogs. I like Ruff, but I really wish he would settle down and not shoot the 25 plus foot three early in the shot clock.
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I can't argue much with those.. he didn't hit his last couple of attempts from out there.. but he's hit quite a few this year. I suspect his shooting pct on those shots is 40% or so, which means, I'm alright if he takes him.

I don't think this is any coincedence either. When Matt plays well we are a great team that has the capability to be successful in the postseason. I won't go as far to say that he is our most important player, I think that's D Ruff, but we are such a better team when he plays well it's unreal. The last two games Matt has transformed himself and looks like a different player. I hope the fire that he has played with the last two games is there for the rest of the season because this team is at a different level when he is playing with his new-found intensity.
