  • BU Home Attendance

    A couple good notes......

The top two home crowds of all time and 3 of the top 4 have been this season.
Also 5 of the Top 12 have been this season, and 8 of the Top 12 have come since Feb. 2006!

    Top 12 Bradley Home Crowds
    Att. Opponent Date Result
    11,597 #9 Michigan St. 12/4/07 L, 61-66
    11,444 Illinois State 1/24/07 W, 88-67
    11,430 #15 Illinois 11/22/99 L, 62-72
    11,421 Illinois State 1/23/08 W, 76-75
    11,335 Creighton 2/16/08 W, 87-59 (yesterday)
    11,320 Indiana State 1/8/00 W, 62-51
    11,309 Illinois State 2/21/01 W, 64-52
    11,164 Illinois State 2/1/06 W, 73-44
    11,161 Southern Illinois 1/17/04 L, 62-72
    11,117 VCU 12/22/07 L, 64-79
    11,080 Wichita State 1/20/07 W, 78-63
    11,080 DePaul 11/11/06 W, 78-58

BU is presently averaging 10,041 per home contest this year, and the final two home games (Bracketbuster and SIU)
are almost certainly BOTH going to be over 11,000 (barring horrid weather), so BU's final 2007-2008 home attendance should end up at around 10,150.
This will be the best home attedance average since the 90's and could rival the best ever.
Home crowds of 11,136 in each of the next two games would give us an average of 10,178, the best ever.
Also, Bradley's single season total home attendance record of 165,376 is within reach,
but only if we get an extra post-season game at Carver like we did vs. Providence last year.

    BU's best home attendance averages:
    10,178 in 1999-2000
    10,016 in 1987-88
    9,728 in 2006-2007

    BU's best total home attendances:
165,376 fans during the 2006-2007 season
160,263 fans during the 1987-88 season

with two home games remaining (barring a possible NIT home game)
BU presently has 140,576 total fans this season and 10,041 average.
If BU draws 10,000 in each of the two remaining games, we will end this season in 2nd place, but it is impossble to reach the #1 spot
(165,376) without getting an extra game in a postseason tournament.

Just think of the money rolling in if Bradley had a 20,000 seat facility. Only problem is, what would fill it during the offseason?
