Looked all over the board for info on WE and couldn't find any. Noticed he was in street clothes yesterday. What is the story?

After watching the replay, there's no way this could have been avoided. Talk about a freak injury. You can't even see it happening. I swear, if we didn't have bad luck we wouldn't have any luck at all. Every team has injuries...we just seem to have more of them. Very frustrated right now.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't JJ Tauai play with a broken left hand for the last month or so of the season? Hopefully, AW's injury is the type that he can play through as well. I'm grasping here, I need something positive.

I THINK THERE ARE SOME MEDICAL FOLKS ON THIS SITE.
COULD THEY EXPOUND ON A "SPIRAL FRACTURE OF THE SECOND METACARPAL"
HOW LONG UNITIL HE CAN PLAY?
All the best to you Andrew.
Andrew was really "coming on". This is another chapter in the saga of, Bradley losing key players due to injury!

if JJ did play with a broken hand during the end of the season last year, he grabbed something like 17 boards one of those games with a broken hand! impressive to say the least!

The 2nd meta carpal is one of the longer bones in the hand, and the one that goes from the wrist to the pointer finger, spanning the palm of the hand.
A spiral fracture is kinda what it sounds like. The bone breaks in a spiral fashion, not straight across.

Here is a spiral fracture of one of the long bones in the foot.
NOTE that this picture is a similar fracture in a foot bone as I couldn't find a good picture of one in a metacarpal.

Thanks Tornado! Care to estimate how long he will be out?

Here is one of the middle finger (I just am using the link since the pic is so large)

anyway.....I think most spiral fractures in the metacarpals are going to be inherently unstable because of the reasonably large cross sectional area of bone involved, so the usual treatment options do include often putting screws into the bones to get the to heal right the first time around.
If indeed Andrew Warren gets screws surgically placed, then he is almost certainly done for the season.....maybe 3-4 weeks before playing ball again.

Here is an xray picture of two spiral fractures surgically repaired with small screws.

Last year I got a spiral fracture on my thumb from playing football. I went to the hospital the day of the accident, and I went through surgery that night where they put 2 small screws in my thumb. The hospital gave me a splint and told me to keep it wrapped for five weeks, and afterwards I could take it off during the day and only wear a the splint to sleep. As I recall though, after 5 weeks, I still had to wear the splint during the days because my thumb hurt too bad and I was still unable to bend it without any pain. I'd say after about week 8 I was just wrapping a little athletic tape around my thumb everyday, and a couple weeks after that I was able to bend my thumb. I still don't have a full range of motion, and pushing down on something hard with my thumb still tends to hurt a little bit. It also cracks when I bend it. I'm by no means an expert on breaks or fractures or anything but I thought I would share since my break sounds kinda similar.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Too valuable a player to risk. Put him on the shelf 'til next year.

If it were his knee, ankle, or something along those lines i might have to agree with you. HOwever since it is his non shooting hand i think the sooner we get him back the better. He will have time to fully recover over the summer
