I was concerned with DC when we first got him. Didn't he average like 7 pts and 6 rebounds in jr. college? not very good for a 7 footer...worth the risk I guess.

      DallasBrave...

I just wanna say in response to your tongue-n-cheek send-off to Collins...

I think last season's success has created problems for future success. Coach Les did a wonderful job last year figuring out how to win with the players he had. Now, it seems like he is trying to fit players into last years mold.... but in all honesty/reality.... he needs to fit players into the 06 teams mold.

      Just IMO.

I was serious about DC transferring, and I don't say that as some sort of vengeful statement. I obviosly am a big fan and supporter of the BU program and JL. But I'm also a big fan of the kids themselves. DC was playing 10+ minutes per game throughout the pre-conference schedule ... something happened ... maybe David lost interest in learning ... maybe something else .. who knows. But, I think you want to balance what's best for the program with what's best for the individual players.

I would also be very surprised if all of our current scholarship players are back for next season!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Yea he played pooorly today, but he does need some more time. I think Jim Les needs to put him in
            a) more often
            b) for more time

he seems to only play when were's up by 20

either way...Sam Singh is all we need in the middle!
While I agree that DC needs more than 29 total minutes in 7 conference games, I cannot agree that "Sam Singh is all we need in the middle". The last two games SS has played a total of 17 minutes and has 8 fouls. It seems we may need more than 8 minutes/game in the middle before racking up 4 personals.

              Everyone two words Jeff Rabey.

Horrible Junior year, great senior season.

At the beginning of the year, we played more man-to-man
I noticed tonight that we were in the zone when DC was in. Is DC having too many troubles with Zone?

Ya beat me to the punch there houston....but I think the problems they each had are sort of a mirror image of each other, if I remember Rabey correctly. Rabey had some mental lapses like Collins, but his problem seemed to be a matter of physical talent, not so much mental. Collins seems to be athletic enough but not there in the "basketball smarts" department. I do remember Rabey's improvement the second year was quite surprising, I don't know if I'd say a "great" year, but you could rely on him to give a solid, albeit unspectacular, performance.

That reminds me, Rabey could be the slowest player I've ever seen on a basketball court.....
A real fan celebrates the successes, but also acknowledges the failures of his team.

I think in Rabey's case Mo was forced to play Rabey a lot his senior year because of the pure lack of player options Mo had.

But Rabey did have a very fine season and his improvement was night and day over what he was his junior season.

If and I think it is a HUGE if, Collins stays around, and can find some personal confidence in his game and if he has a positive attitude he can improve significantly and will be a contributer all of next season.

But Rabey actually played alot in his Jr. year correct? Instrumental in his improvement. With Collins getting little to no time where is the learning going to come from? Trouble is he just can't be on the court right now....he really gives us very little.

I hope he's working hard in practice and comes back stong next year.....

He will be needed next season and depending on fouls in the Valley tourney he might be needed yet thie season same as TCS! I am not good enough to evaluate a plyer in 4 minutes!"rolleyes:

I agree on many counts Mike but ZA played with passion, hustle and desire. I just don't see that from DC. I hope he finds it and that you are correct with his improvement. I'm rotting for the kid as I know many BU fans are.

I'm also extremely tired of people wondering game after game why it is that #4 doesn't get minutes...I'm tired of the sarcastic cheers he gets at Carver every time he gets into a game...as if Les is the only one on the planet that doesn't understand the equation "7-footer = superstar".
What did I expect from him today? Well, I would expect that if he really doesn't like sitting at the end of the bench and if he cares at all about getting minutes the rest of the year, then he could show that by playing with a little energy or fire when he does get his rare opportunities. Get a rebound, catch a pass, run the floor, something, anything... Instead, he came in and tiptoed around for 4 minutes and handled the ball like it was a wet grape every time it came his way...

I agree ER- Let's not put DC down, but remember that he hasn't shown much lately. He is 7 feet tall but doesn't always play like it- He had a 6 ft guard rip a rebound from him- He is too passive and will not get off the bench if that is all he adds...

Nobody was farther behind than RA probably was early on and he makes the most of his chances now and has really blossomed...
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

                            and
                            b) for more time????

Maybe you should actually watch the way he plays when he's in the game instead of just drooling over him being 7 feet tall.

And I really hope that's a joke about Sam Singh.

My reasons on why Collins gets few minutes:
                              Not aggressive
Because he never keeps his hands up he plays more like a 6 footer

If he plans on getting better he needs to go to big mans school this summer as I believe he has the potential but he needs to be shown the fundementals of good footwork in the post and how to use his height as an advantage which means keeping your hands up on both offense and defense otherwise you are not playing like a 7 footer .
